As a last minute thought my husband and I decided to go to the Langton Arms Tarrant Monkton. Lovely venue and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely table with fresh flowers and a candle, chilled bottle of water brought to the table while the waitress took our drinks order. After ordering the waitress brought an amuse-bouche...

Dear Westmoors4, That's made our Tuesday! Thank you so much for the impulsive visit, definitely worth the last minute decision it seems. Very glad to hear that the food and service was fabulous and you thought it was outstanding value. We try to be honest about our food, no hidden extras, generous portions, water on the table and little touches...

The Langton Arms and the little village of Tarrant Monkton was positively delightful. The rooms are in a separate, single story building behind a beautiful thatched pub/restaurant and connected to the breakfast room in the main building by an arbor garden. Each room had a door directly to the outside and parking was very close. We ate dinner in the...

I have been going to the Langton Arms for yonks, not long after the Cossins took it over. I reckon they would give Tom Kerridge a run for his money. Had a big family birthday there yesterday. As usual, lovely food perfectly cooked and served with a smile. Portions to challenge ravenous teenagers. Long may they prosper.

Hi jakko2016, That has to be our favourite accolade of the busy Bank Holiday weekend - "they would give Tom Kerridge a run for his money" - absolutely to be used on Twitter with a big smile accompanying it. Thank you for your many years of custom and appreciation of everything that we do here. We want people to love...

We have recently returned from a stay in Dorset which included attending a party and stay at the Langton Arms. We met up with friends during the afternoon and frequented the bar. All of the staff were friendly and provided a good service. The food that we had in the evening and for breakfast was of a very good quality....

Dear Barker2473, Thank you for your review, great to hear that the food and service were just as we intend, fabulous and enjoyable. Sorry to hear that the room was not up to the mark, we are definitely comfy & cosy rather than boutique and swish but never want to hear you had an uncomfortable night's stay. Will speak to...

Set in deepest darkest Dorset this pub is well signposted and seemingly very popular. It is comfortable, well staffed an d the menu is quite interesting. They gave us both a really nice amuse bouche of vegetable soup and some home cooked bread which did a good job of beginning the filling. A shared platter for starters was huge and...

Hi Guy T Many thanks for the review and the effort to get to us here in deepest darkest Dorset. Great to hear that the sharing platter was enjoyed and the little extra Langton Arms touches noticed and appreciated. We stayed here for our first evening during this trip to England. The room was clean and comfortable but the real joy was the amble around the Village. Actually Tarrant Monkton was not easy to find even with GPS help. The village appeared to have been lifted from an Agatha Christie novel. Thatched roofs on stone houses. Prior to dinner...

Dear Woody F, Music to our ears to hear that you sampled not one, but three of our own Tarrant Valley beef dishes and that you're already planning your return visit to us. We can't ask for more.
