Quite tricky to find off the main A4042 but well worth navigating the single track roads. I recommend going there on Wednesday's as if you're lucky the trio from Last of the Summer Wine (Wales) with be there of Pip, Malc and Russ!

Excellent pub with brilliant food, drinks and most importantly atmosphere! Worth the trip there especially if on a sunny day. There are places outside in front of the pub to sit and enjoy the views across the countryside.

I have visited the goose half a dozen times while walking in the area and I am happy to say it's still and memorable and warming as ever. The day was a cold wet miserable one but sitting by the fire sipping a few pints of the excellently kept local rymney bitter is always welcoming reward whatever the weather. New...

What a delight after an arduous uphill walk. A warm welcome, dog friendly, wonderful local ale and delicious home-made bread rolls. A garden with amazing views AND Pygmy goats awwww! We will definitely return.

We went here as a family for lunch. Great range of beers, spirits, wine, soft drinks. Staff were all lovely too! Not much choice for food but what they have was very tasty! I would recommend the leek soup - lovely and thick homemade hearty soup :).

We pre booked lunch for a group of 9. The range of beers is excellent for a small pub. it has an excellent garden which is great to sit in when it is fine. On the day we booked there were two other groups already booked, the food was very good and reasonably priced though service was a little slow,...

We had heard about the pub from a relative who said that we must pay a visit to it as it is quite an experience. Getting there was an experience all on it's own with a very narrow lane and some directions guessed. However, once there we could appreciate the reason for the recommendation as it was so peaceful and...

I really do not want to write a negative review of the Goose and Cuckoo because it has been a favourite for many years. But today's visit was a disappointment. The beer as always is very good but the greeting was very depressing and we were left to feel an inconvenience to a less than busy bar. Yes, the 'Cuckoo...
