Detailed Reviews
I have stayed at many b&bs during my cycling travels around the world.
The Haven b&b, run by Ellen, is by far thes best b&b I have ever been too. It is as clean and comfortable as many others, but as far as service goes, it is second to none. All I needed was to sleep after not have slept the night before (ferry night trip from Wales). Nevertheless, Ellen offered to drive me on to town to buy dinner if needed (which I didn't), made sure to offer me the best vegan selection of food for breakfast and fruit for the road.
ellen is the kindest host and I cannot say enough to thank her.

I booked a two night stay for 7 people in The Haven Lodge, as we were all attending a wedding in Horetown House together. Nell was a brilliant host from the initial booking experience up, all the way up to us leaving her lovely B and B.
The B and B is just a short drive to Horetown House, so its location is perfect if you are invited to a wedding there. Nell was kind enough to drop some of the group to the venue, so we could leave some Cars behind for convenience.
The rooms in the B and B are spacious and comfortable - we slept very well both nights! The rooms also have all the relevant amenities you would expect (towels etc.).
The breakfast is absolutely lovely! Nell will provide a hot breakfast made to your liking, along with providing a selection of cereals, yogurt, juice, teas and coffee. The scrambled eggs are honestly some of the best I have ever had and I would highly recommend trying them! One of our group had dietary restrictions and Nell was very accommodating, going out of her way to provide them with alternative options.
I would highly recommend booking a stay at this lovely B and B if you are in the area for any reason.

I went down to South Wexford for business over August and September 2022 and had enormous difficulty sourcing b&b's. I was very lucky to find a place as accommodating and friendly as The Haven Lodge. Myself and my colleagues who stayed there found the place absolutely lovely and comfortable and we felt very lucky to have made contact. Ellen, who runs it, was also very supportive and flexible as our work changed and she was able to adapt quickly and was always available to talk on the phone with suggestions and recommendations for the area as our work needed. I do not think we would have had as straight forward a time as we did in Wexford without her help and we are very grateful

My 3rd and most definitely not the last visit I’ll make to The Haven Lodge. Nell is the most wonderful, kind, thoughtful and most attentive host you’ll ever meet! A real homely farmhouse feel with free roaming chickens in the yard, tastefully decorated and dressed en suite rooms with comfortable warm beds and the best Irish breakfast you’ll ever eat! Nothing is ever too much trouble and Nell always goes above and beyond to make your stay a fabulous one. I’m already looking forward to my next visit! Thank you so much Nell x

We were so incredibly lucky to find last minute availability at the Haven Lodge when our other accommodation for a wedding at Horetown House fell through. Nell was so helpful arranging our booking over the phone, and we were thrilled to arrive at her cosy B&B less than a 10 minute drive from the wedding venue. The beds were very comfortable, and the attention to detail did not go unnoticed e.g. chilled bottles of water in the room. Nell went above and beyond our expectations offering us lifts up to the wedding venue, and cooking the most delicious breakfast on both mornings of our stay. I cannot recommend her B&B enough, and hope to return soon again.

I stayed here for 2 nights as I had a wedding in Horetown House. Nell was the most incredible host and she made us feel so welcome in her home. She went above and beyond to make our visit go as smooth as possible, from making coffees for us when we arrived after a long drive, dropping us to the wedding venue to collect our car and making the most delicious Irish fry. The rooms were a great size, very clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Thanks again, Eadaoin & Teddy.

We were coming to the area for a wedding in Horetown House which is only 7 minutes away from this B&B, from the minute we booked our room with Nell she couldn't do enough for us, the most friendly & helpful host ever, even offering to drive us down to Horetown House to collect our car the next morning. Nothing was a problem for Nell even when I'd to change dates a couple of days before our arrival.
The place just feels like home, the bed was so comfy & the Breakfast was lovely.
Would highly recommend staying here and if ever we are down that area again we hope to stay there too.

Had a lovely stay here. Ellen was a great host who went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. A very tasty and well needed breakfast was served the next morning. Would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area

I’ve been lucky enough to travel to over 50 countries across Europe, Asia and the Americas. In all that time I can confidently say I’ve never received a warmer welcome or greater hospitality than I received at Haven Lodge. Nell is the type of person that people think of when we say ‘Cèad MÃle Fáilte’- ‘A Hundred Thousand Welcomes’. Her hospitality, kindness and decency is a credit to the community, the county and the country.
I should also mention that the breakfast was excellent, and the room was lovely, spacious, clean and comfortable. But what sets it apart is the friendliness and warmth of the people. If you’re in the area (for example for a wedding at the beautiful Horetown House like I was) I can’t recommend The Haven Lodge enough.
Thank you Nell, MáirtÃn, Laurence and Anna for such a wonderful stay.
Good luck with everything,
Coileán

We have just enoyed a wonderful stay with Ellen Colfer at her gorgeous bed and breakfast, The Haven Lodge.
Ellen greeted us with tea and warm scones on our arrival and treated us like family. The breakfast each morning was delicious and her rooms are comfortable, clean and very cosy. But it was Ellen's warm and friendly character that really made our stay special. We found a little hidden treasure in County Wexford!
