I chose this hotel based on the photos and the other reviews. The photos cannot show the originality of this place. Once a seminary fallen into ruins, the site was bought by a businessman from Valladolid who kept the façade and built everything again inside. As an art and antique collector he decorated all the public spaces with lavish colors,...

When we arrived, the exterior was not what we expected to be. We even thought we were on the wrong place. But when entering the hotel, we stared in awe at the scenery. Everything reminded us of the magnifice of old times, it was beautiful. The rooms were nice, and clean, and the breakfast was very good. I highly recomend...

This place is like a circus side show, way over the top. It is too big, too ornate, too stuffy, too everything. It is decorated like a Portuguese bawdy house. Why did we stay here? It was the only room available anywhere near Zamora on this bank holiday. All of the above aside, there were good points to the hotel....

Never stayed in a hotel like this before! Whatever you read in the other views here, go to this hotel for at least two nights. We had the guest menu @ 30euros the first night (may seem expensive) but we thought it very good value particularly as Zamora is 12km away (West) and we wanted a relaxing evening after a...

We arrived to find hundreds of beautifully dressed adults and children milling around yelling at the tops of their voices. We immediately resigned ourselves to a sleepless night but our nice, friendly receptionist reassured us that they would all be gone by 10pm. And they were. This wasn't a drunken wedding, it was several posh first communion parties, giving little...

This hotel almost creates a surrealistic experience. It is renovated, really enormous, monastry in the "middle of nowhere", but every aspect of the renovation is fake: the paintings, the furniture, the chandeliers, the ceilings. The outside redecoration of the huge building demonstrates a complete lack of good taste. The rooms though are big, clean and very comfortable and the breakfast...

We took a chance booking this for one night - worrying that it would be out of the way, hard to find and a poor choice. While the first two are true, the choice turned out to be incredible and we stayed for three nights. This was the best experience on our entire trip - and we stayed in many...
