We really enjoyed our stay at Thornley House and received a warm welcome from Eileen. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was exceptional with fresh orange juice, a number of homemade jams and breads as well as a hot breakfast. This is definitely the place to stay if you like cats - we met four, all very friendly...

A beautiful place to spend your holiday especially for cat and garden lovers. The rooms were excellent and we haven't had a better breakfast anywhere. We could not have had a warmer welcome and would recommend this lovely house to anyone visiting this area.

A long weekend break at Thornley House was peaceful and relaxing. We were made most welcome from the moment we arrived and provided with spotless rooms with everything we could possibly need during our stay. The breakfasts were just what was required for a day out walking in the countryside and were notable for the home-made treats such as yoghurt,...

spotlessly clean (NO cat hairs to be found), comfortable, great breakfasts, set in pleasant garden and grounds Magnificent cats (don't be surprised if the grey fur hearthrug gets up and walks, he has weight problem) all very well mannered and they wont bother you unless you want it. (leave your bedroom door open for a complimentary furry hot water bottle...

Just had a lovely stay at Thornley House, a beautiful house and gardens set in the stunning Northumberland countryside. The best bit about it was being instantly welcomed and entertained throughout the stay by six lovely cats and Eileen who is a brilliant host, with stories from her many travels. Our room was lovely too, clean and comfortable with a...

This was just like staying at home for us. We have six cats so staying here was like we never left home. Eileen was a wonderful hostess and Shirley made us some amazing breakfasts. Plus it was a great treat having the house's only female cat, Ivana, sleep in the bed with us. And little Alexi was adorable. Overall, it's...

Thornley House is a lovely little B&B located in the English County side.
