A small, basic hotel to stop when you are traveling further than Bordeaux. Free parking, great wifi and friendly staff. Small rooms, but clean. The hotel information was all in French, which was not very handy, but staff spoke English. I would not stay longer than 2 nights due to the location (bit of a drive to the centre of Bordeaux)
The hotel was exactly as we expected and the standards were typical of a hotel of this rating. However, the staff were some of the most helpful we have experienced. they communicated with us well, they offered helpful advise, they made recommendations for dinner and even translated the restaurant menu for us. They ordered us a taxi to take us to a local restaurant and even came onto the terrace to tell us it had arrived. Unfortunately, the restaurant we ate at were unable to order us a return taxi return, or even provide us with a local number, but a quick call to reception and it was all sorted.
Reception staff were smiley and friendly. Room initially reeked of body odour - the chamber maid Mosquito problem, Poor TV reception in Rm 42 B'fast - adequate Pool - clean but surrounds need maintenance. Location - close to major roads and near the airport.
We are driving from northern france to portugal. We had a frustrating and stressful time in the vendee where there are very few functioning hotels and the one we found would not accept our charming dog. Arriving in Bordeaux we were delight to find this hotel. Although we arrived late the staff were very welcoming. They kept the kitchen open for us and while we enjoyed a tasty meal the receptionist entertained our dog. They put us in a comfortable room next to the side exit so it was easy to walk the dog any time. Altogether a lovely end to an otherwise tedious day!
I stayed here with a number of colleagues for SOFINS 19 for 4 nights. The hotel is very well placed for the airport, Mérignac town and the Bordeaux Rocade. It has evidently been recently renovated but despite the renovation, it is still a tired building. 90 € a night seemed pretty expensive for what it was, even when breakfast was included. That said, my room, despite being pretty small, was as clean as it could be and the bed was certainly comfortable. There’s not a lot of insulation so the room was pretty noisy with people walking up and down the corridor. Late night works on the local road (not the hotel’s fault) which finished around 0230 ruined 2 night’s sleep. Didn’t get to use the pool as it was April! Lots of free parking and the staff were friendly and efficient. Only had breakfast not dinner. …
