We stayed here for about 2 weeks in July/August 2016 and initially chose this venue due to the convenient location to family in the area, coupled with the good reviews we read. We were given a large "family" room (Room 7) that had a King sized bed with ample space to add 2 single beds for our teenage daughters. There...

I was excited to stay at the Wesley as the pictures on the website portray the property as absolutely outstanding. The exterior looked tired and the pool surface was in desperate need of repair. Marks along the bottom resembling algae or peeling paint made it look very uninviting. The driveway was complete mud, as it had been raining and the...

Perfect location for intimate meeting or workshop with great setting. Service could have been better and was not that pro-active for the high price per head. They didnt have the correct cable for screen projection as promised and we had to keep asking for the things we had ordered. Lovely fireplace and homely vibe.

as usual the Wesley was very neat and tidy, however the shower in room 2 lacks pressure and can use some attention. All else was good with very little change required. I will continue to support the Wesley

It's a bit difficult to get to if you haven't got a car. I ended up sending quite a lot on taxis. However, this is the only negative point. I stayed in two different rooms (2 stays) and both were excellent.

The experience we had at The Wesley was beyond comparison!! When we would enter the facility the man at the gate was always friendly! The woman at the front desk was so helpful and always went the extra mile! The room was very clean and comfortable! At first it felt awkward having the tub in the corner of the bedroom,...

Serious damp issues which receptionist claims she has never seen before. Towels need to be replaced. Requested to be moved to room without damp only to find stained carpet, worn toilet seat. Cook has terrible attitude, refused to prepare breakfast as we arrived 10 minutes late. Property has beautiful gardens and a perfect location. It is a shame that it...

The presidential suite is in poor condition. Bathroom lights are hanging out of die ceiling. No hot water, and struggled to get hold of any one to report the water. Had to boil water from the kettle to get my baby in a warm bath.

I felt sad for the staff who were employed at The Wesley. They were friendly and helpful, but with no manager or owner in sight, left to their own, untrained devices. I asked for coffee at breakfast and was told that filter coffee would be an extra R10, instant coffee was part of breakfast. Not great when you are paying...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Wesley is an upmarket Guesthouse that caters for the more discerning guests. Situated in the heart of Bryanston, Sandton, surrounded by beautiful gardens and a natural bird haven which has been cultivated over decades opposite the Bryanston golf course. As one of the oldest farm houses in Bryanston, the property is situated on the highest point in the area and has been occupied by Multinational CEOs and Heads of States. The Wesley is conveniently near many popular venues, namely 10 minutes away from Sandton, Fourways, Cresta, Rosebank, Monte Casino, the highway and the Gautrain Set in an idyllic surrounding, there are few experiences that can rival sipping sundowners on the deck, listening to the gurgling of the waterfalls, basking amongst the unique bird life, and watching the setting of the magnificent South African sun! Exclusivity and privacy is the key to the service offering and each room is designed with this in mind. The entire area is covered by Cameras, electric fencing and electric beams with 24 hour guards and is truly a secure environment where you can feel at home without any worries. With a backup generator in case of power failure. The rooms vary in size from 45 to 100 square metres boasting antiques in all the rooms dating between 100 and 250 years old. The focus and design is a fusion between French Provencal with touches of ancient colonial Asia. Each of the 11 rooms has a sense of conformity with the detail presenting total individualism. The majority of the decor has been specifically imported and guests can experience treats such as slumbering on an 18th Century bed. Without giving away all the treasures to be found in the common areas, you will definitely notice the 250 year old feature door when exploring the property. There is a Cigar bar and an African Bar and a beautiful swimming pool with waterfalls and Palm trees rivaling Sun City. If you are looking for the best bouquet of offerings from personal to professional and modern to old school, The Wesley will not disappoint both private and business traveller alike.
