The room is clean. It had a bathroom also clean. The room was a little warm as the window is small. Only one English speaking channel BBC. The safe is not great. The door is not very secure. And there is nowhere to put your clothes. BUT - it's a very inexpensive price for a clean room. There are several... More

Won't be returning. Very run down. Food was not good. The 'restaurant' is more like a cafeteria with shouty staff. Noisy and thin walls and doors. The windows did not open as it is a glass exterior it is not uncommon, however the only relief from the hot and stuffy room is a noisy fan which you have to have... More

I kept reading good things about Medellin so decided to spend two weeks there. I know a few Spanish words ... really not anything. Had a great time and staying at Alcaravan was a big part of the success. The staff don't speak much English, but they'll try to communicate with you. (Google Translate worked well). The Hotel has a... More

The Hotel Alvaravan is great place to stay and not lose track of your budget. The staff here were very friendly, and the food at the restaurant was surprising very good (most Hotel meals tend to be quite blah). We ate both breakfast and dinner here ordering different plates each time, and all were very good. Our room was quite... More

Like all South American hotels, the rooms here are small by USA standards. With that being said, you're in Colombia!! Get out the room and go explore. Who cares about the square footage? You're only going to be sleeping there anyway. The rooms are clean. The staff isn't bilingual so hit up Rosetta Stone or buy a phrase book if... More

Customer service is a 10, always caring about you and your necessities same as the restaurant. The place is quite cozy and nice, they have jacuzzi and a sauna, rooms are small but comfortable, overall is a nice place to stay at for a couple of days if not intended to spend much and get plenty ;).

Staff was nice and helpful small room and no ac but fan was enough to make bearable short walk to the metro reasonable priced restaurant in the hotel across the street from a big market center So if you travel on a budget this is a good place for the money

... but as the money was not a lot, we could not expect too much value and to be honest the value was to little, so we decide to leave after tow night though we planned to stay seven. The room was very clean, but small. We missed a wardrobe and a decent table with chairs. But as the title... More

I stayed here while on an extended "budget backpacker" trip. When we arrived in Medellin, we headed to a few of the hostels in the normal backpacker zone. They were all full and pricey in my opinion, $20 a night for a dorm bed. After one night of dorm living in party central, I found this place. It was only... More
