We have stayed with Derek and Liz before, and once again they excelled themselves. Their hosptality is superb. Such lovely people. The Meeting House suits our purposes very well, and to have a great cooked breakfast in the morning sets youi up for the day.

This is certainly the neighborhood place to stop by for tea, coffee, cakes and scones. Derek and Liz were so welcoming with lots of very helpful information about the area, and also a great place to meet the locals. The tea and scones were good too. While waiting for the food, it was really interesting to explore the Thomas Shop,... More

We found the Thomas Shop completely by accident on our way home on Saturday, needing to stop for a break and a cuppa on a long journey. We were amazed at the array of delicious cakes on display and warm welcome we received, we sat by the river in the sunshine, with a huge pot of tea, eating delicious warm... More

This quirky house is a delight. We were so well looked after by Liz who welcomed us with a delicious tea by the pristine river. The room is clean and characterful filled with history. The beds are very comfortable and the "interesting" shower did the job and got us clean. Breakfast far exceeded our expectations and a visit round the... More

Just stopped for coffee and cake as we had seen it whilst driving past. Lovely selection of homemade cakes, my fiance ordered a scone, it had just been baked and was lovely and came with very nice homemade jam! Very quirky and lovely, well worth stopping, we shall be going back!

What a memorable experience and I can't wait to return. One of of the most alluring places I've been to for ages. Will return for an overnight stay. I only had tea but the ambiance is so hospitable you feel drawn by a magnet.

Although we didn't stay here we did stop for coffee and cake, it was great to wander through the place, the old shop is amazing. Upstairs with all the handmade products is definitely worth a look too. Stop in on your way through, its worth it :) (July 2012)

I had this idea to cycle up from Cardiff to Lake Vrynwy and it was through google's cycle direction that I chose the Thomas shop as a logical place to stay. I could not have made a better choice: Wales is so hilly that it took me actually much longer to get there than anticipated. That wasn't a problem for... More

In light of the fantastic time we had last year, I returned with more people. So we had to have a B&B room as well as the bunkhouse. Once again the hospitality and genuine wit displayed by Derek was right on target for our group. Ultra relaxed atmosphere and a smashing breakfast all combined to "make" our weekend. Well recommended.... More
