I’ve just spent a night in Park Place on an impromptu walking weekend in the Black Mountains. I thought it was a great B&B! I thought the owner (Maxine, I see from other reviews) was very pleasant and welcoming. I had a single occupancy single room, which was small but comfortable with en-suite facilities as well as reasonably priced. The...

We really enjoyed our stay at Park Place, only 10min walk to the very pretty town of Crickhowell. The views from the room were beautiful of the mountains. The hotel's old fashioned and quirky style made it feel very homely. The host Maxine made us feel very welcome and gave us a gift for our anniversary, which was very kind...

My wife and I intended to stay only one night but liked the atmosphere amenity and location so much we stayed two nights. Very friendly family run B&B in a quiet spot just out of the town of Crickhowell ,but within easy walking distance to all the pubs and other excitements . Highly recommended .

We were visiting the area as we were involved in the 100 mile walk that was taking place in the area. We were made so welcome on arriving after a long trip down (it was Bank Holiday) but the moment we arrived coffee or tea and welsh cakes arrived for us. We were shown our room which was in the...

We were visiting the area for our long distance walkers association annual 100 mile event The Valleys. We were welcomed by Maxine lovely lady, presented with welsh cakes and coffee. Lovely touch. Maxine offers wonderful B & B experience. Our room was a twin at the front of the house. Very comfortable. Extra touch's of chocolate on pillow, tea, coffee,...

My husband and I stayed with Maxine as a short break to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. I had originally planned to book a hotel in Abergavenny but my choices were fully booked by the time I had made my mind up so I looked online in the area and went by previous reviews. I am so pleased that Abergavenny...

I stayed for five nights. Very warm welcome from Maxine, very clean and comfortable room, fantastic breakfast. It felt like staying with friends. I'm fussy but I couldn't fault it, and very good value too. I've stayed elsewhere locally before, but next time I'll return to Park Place.

When my wife and I arrived at the property I was greeted on first name terms. We were shown to the lounge and offered tea and coffee. We had arrived in early evening and Maxine (guest house owner) suggested a number of restaurants in the local area we could try. The guest house was clean and tidy with a number...

We really liked Park Place, lovely welcome with coffee & welsh cakes being served in the guest lounge before being shown to our room. We'd booked a room with a double & single bed and the hosts kindly let us have an adjacent single room for our daughter at no extra cost! The rooms were nicely furnished and comfortable. Slight...

we stayed here for one night in April as part of our Beacon way trek. We arrived about 8.00 after walking for over 10 hours and we had a very warm and welcoming reception from the owner. She offered us a cup of tea, which we declined, and showed us to our room. We were situated in the attic bedroom....
