Stayed here last year for 2 nights before heading to Paris and Warner Bros Studios - Harry Potter (20 mins away) . We were also visiting our family who live in Welwyn. The place is amazing and beautiful. Very comfortable. Very beautiful. Lovely place with lovely people. I love everything about it. There are no hotels like this in Malaysia...

Stayed here to attend a wedding and would happily come back again. Beautiful room with old features. Very attentive staff. Lovely village feel to the immediate area. Good choice at breakfast from cereals to a full english. The rooms sit on top a pub - we wernt back until late - there was a bit of noise at kicking out...

Me and an old work colleague met up here for dinner. At first, they seemed to be shocked to have customers and didn't really seem to know what to do with us, but once we got our table, a lovely waitress took our order and everything was fine. I had the best fish finger bap I have ever had, and...

Stayed for one night and had room 3. I received a warm greeting and was taken to my very interesting room. It is important to remember this is a really old building and the rooms are in-keeping. There is a very comfy large bed and a fabulous free standing bath. Having no shower was strange but bath was a great...

Booked overnight stay and dinner to celebrate my partner's birthday. Sent two emails but didn't get a response to either. Room 6 at the top of the stairs was quaint and had a lovely view of the church. No plug near a mirror for hair drying..... Had pre-dinner drinks in the bar and then dined in the restaurant. Main courses...

I contacted this hotel in December in regards to Valentines. I informed that the previous year I tried arranging a room and table, I was messed around and by the time it was sorted, they were fully booked. This time I thought I would get in early. I was informed that they were not yet taking bookings for Valentines until...

This is our third time staying overnight after a meal at the Wellington restaurant. We booked a deluxe room which as on previous visits was generally excellent. In this case we were in room number 1 which is on the main staircase so there was a bit more noise than on previous vitas until all other guests had all gone...

We have eaten here a few times but we decided we would have a meal and stay the night. The meal as usual was quality and makes for a lovely evening. The room (Room 1) was the deluxe room and was beautiful. A roll top bath within the room and the bed was fantastic. Total value for money and we...

Stayed for the package of food and accommodation. I had called into the hotel before checking in to review the room for a potential camp bed (we were not sure at the time if daughter was partying with us or not), the proprietor was more than helpful. The room we had was on the top floor, away from the bar...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Six bedrooms, each one slightly different, complement the Wellington's award-winning food and service. In keeping with the spirit of a building dating from 1352, we have kept and restored as many of the original features as possible, so you will encounter oak beams, cedar pine floors as well as antique furniture throughout the building. Some rooms even have an open fireplace or a four-poster bed... Each room has also been updated to offer you all the luxuries of contemporary living with plate glass, crisp bed linen and feather-down duvet on hand-sprung mattresses, monsoon showers or deep free-standing slipper baths, free WiFi, flat screen TV and a personal iPod dock/iPhone charger in your room. ... more   less
