Beautiful old fashioned pub , very courteous and helpful staff. The roast beef was really good, cooked exactly as asked with lovely fresh vegetables. Had to make an effort to order a pud !! These were also very yummy. The stickt toffee pudding a delight. Can certainly reccomend a visit . We will definitely go back

Lovely inn in a picturesque village. The accommodation was great and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the manager couldn't have been more helpful. Food in the restaurant was excellent and the home made pies are to die for (!). We are definitely going to stay here again in order to visit other attractions in the area.

A spur of the moment decision to go for a meal resulted in great quality food and beer with local friendly service. We found that the Calves liver was of particularly high quality (melt in the mouth without that lingering liver aftertaste.) Also the steak was cooked to perfection. we were particularly impressed by the Tarte Citrone - four different...

In the dreary windy weather, this restaurant was our saving grace. We stopped here for a welcome break in the terrible driving conditions and were very pleasantly surprised. The bar staff were chatty and made us feel welcome even though we weren't one of the regulars who were in resident, they also offered some good travel advice for the optimum...

After hearing of new management in this local village pub I decided to go back and give this place another go. I was pleasantly surprised. My partner and I had already eaten on this particular Monday evening but we both fancied a sweet. We popped in to have a look at the pudding menu and we were greeted by a...

Had lunch from the pie menu which was very nice and there was a very good choice on the menu. Service was good and they gave free water a nice touch. Lots of parking and the inside is much nicer than the outside.

We called in for lunch just after Christmas. Following Christmas Day and 2 Bank Holidays we didn't expect a great choice but were pleasantly surprised. Attentive friendly staff and sufficient available menu to give a reasonable selection. The food was good, as was the beer and wine. We will be back when in the area.

We stayed here last night and enjoyed a well organised tasty three course dinner. Service was tip top, friendly and helpful. Our room was as we expected from the photos - not huge but very clean and comfortable. Had a lovely breakfast this morning. Would recommend both the restaurant and the general feel of the pub for a pleasant stay.

Been going here since early 60s so cant say Im not prejudiced Forever optimistic I hoped for improvement under relatively new management The opening attraction on a mild Saturday near Christmas was tne open fake fire sadly the end of the couch adjacent to fire heralded threat to Elf and Safety and lack of management Even failing businesses constantly adjust...

We left the M11 specifically to get lunch here (looking for a good meal on way to O2 for tennis). We were a bit aghast at the dreary outside and thought it had closed down. The sign in the car park is dirty and covered in algae? However we checked and it was open. Having come we stayed and were...
