I cannot say enough about how wonderful Casas D'Arramada is! From the delicious and fresh breakfast basket provided every morning, to the beautiful accomodations, to the most amazing and friendly hosts, this is the place to stay while on Faial. My rec area complete with indoor/outdoor pool, pool table, darts and more were perfect for the adults and kids when we weren't out and about. The homes are spacious with all the amenities you could need. The owners are beyond helpful and friendly! I cannot recommend this place enough!

Our extended family of 15, ages 18 months to 70 years, could not have found better accommodations than Casa D'Arrmada, or better hosts than Aldina and Manuel. The accommodations are absolutely gorgeous. There are five beautiful casas embedded in a gorgeous, mountain side. Each casa is perfect for a family with children, but would also be excellent for a couple. The property is impeccably manicured, with flower gardens, grazing fields for the Donkeys, and a charming chicken coop. There is also a pool that overlooks the mountainside and ocean, a tasteful game room with pool table and ping pong (no video games, which I loved!), and a small bar with complimentary beverages. There are bikes and fishing gear to use as well. Each morning a giant basket is delivered to each casa, with farm fresh eggs, cheeses, fresh breads, meats and juices. There is also a bowl of fresh fruit in each house that is replenished daily. Every house has all the accommodations you need for a family; a perfect blend of tradition and modern comfort, and impeccably clean! The hosts, Aldina and Manual, embrace you as family. In advance of the trip, they were so helpful and even arranged rental cars for us. They also arranged a crib and a baby bath in one of the casas for our 18 month old. At their own will, they met us at the Ferry docs and helped to transport our family to the casas, free of charge. The brought us grocery shopping, folded our laundry for us, and took us to see us sightseeing, again, all out of generosity, grace and pride in their homes and their island. When our flight was cancelled, the adjusted our itinerary graciously, and, unprompted, gave us a discount because we arrived later than planned. We truly can't say enough about Casas D'Arrmada-truly a gem!

We came to Faial to see the land where our father's ancestors lived, and Casas D'Arramada was the perfect place to stay during our adventure. We had a group of 15 people (kids and adults) and rented 4 of the casas. Each casa was beautifully and thoughtfully appointed with everything a family could need. The casas were spotless, roomy, and comfortable with breathtaking views. The pool/game room was a surprising bonus for the kids, and the gorgeous grounds were meticulously kept with views of the mountains and ocean around any corner. The kids loved petting and riding the resident donkeys, Jack and Alex! And the breakfast baskets provided enough delicious local cheese, eggs, fruit and bread to feed us throughout the day. But most impressive was the kindness and hospitality of our hosts, who went out of their way to accommodate the various needs of our large group, including helping us with transportation, laundry, sightseeing, and locating a lost bag. Staying in Casas D'Arramada gave us the authentic Faial experience we were looking for, while introducing us to the beauty of the Azorean land and people. I would choose Casas D'Arramada every time we go back to Faial!

What an amazingly quaint property! It is way bigger than we imagined, set in the mountains of Faial, equipped with a number of individual cabins, a solarium with a pool, table tennis, darts, billiards and a number of other recreational activities, and lets not forget the donkeys (Alex and Jack) on the farm out back. It was an amazing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and it was the best sleep we've had since....ever! We arrived a little earlier than the scheduled check in time, and since our cabin was still being prepared, we took full advantage of the free bikes and went on an epic bike ride in the country side and stopped for a nice lunch at one of the recommended restaurants by Casad D'Arramada. Aldina's brother was warm and welcoming and provided us with all of the information and maps we needed to get ourselves acquainted with the island. In the morning, we were provided with a breakfast basket (hung outside the cabin) filled with local groceries. It was such a neat experience. Overall, it was an amazing value for the money, we would choose this place any day over Horta. This place is located no more than 15 min drive from Caldeira or Dos Capelinhos. We rented a car, and parking was available on-site. Expect complete quiet, a beautiful landscape and warm hosts!! Thank you!!!
