This is a lovely place to stay and is really dog friendly, unfortunately this was our third attempt to stay due to lockdown and my later illness and then my dog died . The hotel was so accommodating and carried forward our June 2020 booking twice with no problems. We love staying here, we had a lovely big room that has AC, that opens out onto the rear car park, breakfast is lovely, plenty of choice and service is excellent. We had dinner two evenings as well, service was excellent and the food lovely . Had such a lovely 4 nights here and look forward to visiting again next year. The hotel is on the A40 so is easy to find and in a good position to visit lots of places nearby. Since last visiting 2 years ago, a lot of outdoor seating under substantial covers has been added. Very happy with Covid precautions and felt very safe as all staff were wearing face coverings and most of the guests complied as well. Book a stay here - you won’t be disappointed , it’s one of our favorite places to stay, just need to get another dog some time.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary here. We had booked an evening meal, plus bed and breakfast. The meal was superb (haven’t had such a delicious curry in a very long time). The room was spacious, scrupulously clean, with a good shower. Can really recommend this lovely inn. Next time I’m trying their afternoon tea - it looked so good! The hotel paid all possible attention to COVID safety, including masks and social distancing, but always made us feel valued.

Whilst on route from Aberfan to Carmarthen we stopped off her for a drink with the potential of dining albeit we hadn’t booked There was plenty of outside seating all under lovely umberellas with heaters in a lovely setting As it was a Tuesday afternoon we didn’t expect it to be busy On arrival we were told to wait for a table allocation which we did once we finally sat down our drinks order was taken We waited and waited 25 mins later a waiter came and asked us for our order which had previously been taken 25 mins earlier the couple to the right of us couldn’t wait any longer for there order and the couple to the left of us also got up and left as they too didn’t like the wait All in all a very poor service on what was a beautiful sunny day and money could have been spent Very disappointing

Good afternoon Angela, thank you for your feedback. I can see how your experience with us was disappointing. I am afraid on the day in question we had three team members phone in sick and were consequently very short staffed. You can see in the papers that the whole of hospitality is currently struggling after the pandemic with massive staff shortages. We are no different and are doing our absolute best for our customers in what is a very difficult time. A 25 minute wait is certainly not in keeping with our usual standards. We hope to see you again in the near future. Warm regards, Andrew

My family and I have visited the Plough for a lovely meal on a number of occasions over the past few years (including a really lovely Christmas Day meal), however this was the first time that I have stayed at the hotel. I booked 3 rooms for a 3 night weekend break for my 50th Birthday and invited my friends to join me. I have to say that I cannot fault the Plough inn in any aspect of my stay. The service from all the staff was exceptional, so polite, attentive and professional. Our rooms were spotlessly clean, the décor was of a high standard and the beds were comfortable. Through my business I have had the necessity to stay at many hotels and the Plough is one of the very best. We dined in the restaurant on Saturday night and everyone commented how great the food was. Being able to sit outside for drinks on all 3 evenings was an added bonus. I would happily stay again and would recommend the Plough to anyone, its really great value for money. Thanks to all the staff for making us welcome and for a really pleasant stay.
