Lovely breakfast and dinner. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. Friendly welcoming staff and locals. Brilliant hair dryer which was a welcome surprise as usually hotels supply you with a mini travel sized one that has no strong blow to it. Thick black out curtains. We were even given ice to take to our room so we could enjoy a few night caps in bed :) yea we asked but they were more then accommodating...Nothing seemed a big ask. House keeping friendly and kind...opened our windows because it was going to be a hot day...so we returned to a nice cool well aired room. It's those small things that make a huge difference. Very thoughtful. I used to be a GA in a 5* hotel so I know whats what...and this hotel definitely has it right and knows how to take care of their guest! They have they're own car park and that's they only thing I would advise them on is to make it a bit more obvious as it is not obvious when driving to the hotel as it's a side entrance however this lack of signage maybe due to them being literally on the doorstep of the town centre and the carpark would probably be used by others for free parking...but a little note when booking a room giving carpark directions would be a good shout :) thank you for making our stay extra special.…
Stayed on a Saturday night and the noise from the street and room next door was unbearable. Hardly got any sleep. The walls are paper thin and little in the way of sound insulation from the street. There was no parking available despite this being advertised on their website....about six spaces between many rooms. Generally friendly staff with exception of one woman in the bar who couldn’t wait for people to finish their drinks.
We stayed here last night, whilst we've been travelling around the last few days, well what can I say! staff friendly and room clean. Mattress could feel every spring and very uncomfortable. No free shower gel etc But the worst of all of this I'm afraid to say is that the food was awful. After a long day travelling all we wanted was a nice meal and a beer, so a beer in the cosy bar was lovely, sadly weren't allowed to eat in there?? So had to move into eating area. I ordered Scampi and chips, Scampi ok, chips undercooked, peas couldn't even taste these as I think they'd been microwaved too many times and the limpest salad I've ever seen, so only ate the Scampi, my husband's fish was completely overcooked that he couldn't eat it and chips were OK, when we told the staff they just apologised and told us that all food was frozen!!!. Could they get breakfast right! Errr no, I ordered pouched eggs on toast all looked fab until I broke the egg all over my toast so undercooked that my plate was swimming, so just reordered toast. Shame as the girl waiting on us was lovely. One place ticked never to go back too and this is the first one.…
Staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included, staff were great with the kids. Steps to our room were a little steep and strange but with extra precaution not an issue. You do have to drive through a narrow alley to access the car park at the back but the car park is free. There is only around 8 spaces though and they do shut the door to the alley at night but you can actually open it yourself apparently so my partner was told the next morning (we just assumed returning quite late that it was locked). Because it was hot we had the windows open at night and there was a lot of night life outside during the weekend from the local pubs. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom looked newly renovated. Rooms were regularly cleaned and coffee, tea and biscuits were topped up daily. It was overall a pleasant stay.…
The staff we met were first class at maintaining social distancing and wearing masks etc. Hygiene was first class. My wife and I both had fish and chips from the menu and really enjoyed our well cooked and presented meals. Our drinks were the first beers we'd had for months because of lockdown, the Felinfoel bitter was fabulous. We don't live nearby but will be going back very soon. Our safety was important to the hotel.
