We went for a family birthday lunch. The venue is lovely, the staff were excellent and the food superb. But by far the best is the way that children are made so welcome. So relaxing not having to worry about them. Just one mishap. I did wonder about the pond in front of the restaurant. It was frozen over. It...

We stayed here a few years ago and stayed in the Pallaret which was a beautiful suite overlooking the gardens. This time we stayed in the 'Boys' room, but it wasn't in the main house (which we didn't realise) and instead was in a separate building near the kitchens. It was a nice room, but very small and noisy. We...

A friend and I got an offer through travel zoo for a spa day including full body massage and cream tea for £60. Sound to good to be true? It was. On arrival at the spa there was no one in reception (as we had a booking you would think they would be expecting us). When someone did appear she...

I was looking forward to the spa day I had booked for myself and my friend. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. The spa was absolutely filthy! Here are a few examples; 1. Our robes and towels both has stains on them (it looked liked blood on one of them) and we're dirty. 2. The family toilet had...

I had heard so much about Wooley Grange and have stayed in other luxury family hotels, so I was really looking forward to our stay. It's a beautiful building and the lounge areas with their open fires are warm and inviting. The grounds are nice with a few things for the kids to do. We also enjoyed the indoor pool...

This is a lovely, friendly place. We stayed in the John Baskerville, which we thought was worth the extra - nice sitting room, large bathroom - watch your head on the beam, and the room is well situated. The creche staff are super and our toddler enjoyed his time there. The food was good - breakfasts are tremendous, kids dinners...

Looking for a holiday for my family with two young children, aged 1 and 2 years old, I was delighted to find Woolley Grange. On the website it looked great, geared up for children. I was totally sold when I phoned the sales team and heard about the creche, swimming pool and spa, bottle cleaning, milk warming and cots. On...

I had a job nearby on the Monday so my wife and I decided to make a break of it and turned up early in the town on Sunday to get the train to visit the Bath Winter/Christmas Fare. Don't park in the station car park - a real 'jobsworth' thinks he owns it and also think twice about going...

A birthday celebration for very young grandchildren through to grandparents....plenty to keep children entertained with pool, spa, nice study rooms with games. Good walks and walled garden. Good standard of food for adults and children. Must be even better in summer with good weather, but indifferent weather did not stop our enjoyment. One small negative is the drinks service which...
