I normally book any holidays/breaks away but my husband booked this as a surprise and hadn't read any reviews, as he thought it looked nice on the internet. How wrong was he. The room was the dirtiest room I have ever stayed in. The shower curtain was black at the bottom -full of mildew. There was dead spiders hanging from...

Disco directly under bedrooms - floors vibrating Small rooms, tiny bathrooms, smell of beer, narrow steep staircase to lug one's suitcase up. Rooms so close together and walls so thin we might as well have been with them..... Greasy. Parts of curtain rail held together by cellotape. Sorry state. We stayed in the hotel. We did not eat at the...

We decided to go to Bradford-on-Avon for our anniversary and I booked The Riverside Hotel as (surprise, surprise!) it was by the river and it looked really nice. I usually check reviews before I book anything but on this occasion I didn't. I'm so glad! If I'd taken any notice of the awful reviews that have been written about this...

I attended a wedding evening reception recently and all I can say is the service provided to the bride and groom was disgraceful. The wedding had been booked for over a year, and they were aware that a band would be playing during the evening. It was agreed that the band would finish at midnight. From 11pm the landlady continued...

My sister booked a twin room for the two of us - and was told it had a river view. The room we were given had security glass windows, with frosted glass reinforced with mesh - and large cracks in them. (Had we been able to see through them, the view was of roof tops - the other side of...

We were in the area to attend a christening and stayed on a Saturday night. Unfortunately there was a wedding celebration in the function room below which went on until 11.30. The "band" sounded as if it was in the same room and it was impossible to relax. The hotel appearance was shabby and the breakfast was very poor. The...

Stayed as a B&B guest in September (see review on Google) and the place is grubby and smells of cooking fat. There is nothing positive I can say - the decor is horrid, service indifferent, the carpets stained with grease and the food little above institutional level. The plates and cups were greasy. Ugh. Its the fat, its in the...
