Guyers House Hotel & Restaurant is a charming, privately owned Four Star country house hotel surrounded by its own outstanding gardens. It is located a mile from the pretty town of Corsham and 8 miles from Bath. The aim of the hotel is to provide friendly service, comfort and wonderful cooking. We are proud that the restaurant has been awarded 2 Rosettes by the AA and a special Breakfast Award by Visit England. The hotel has 37 en suite bedrooms, elegant dining and sitting rooms, a panelled Bar and all that you would expect of an English country house The gardens extend to over 6 acres and include a croquet lawn a hard tennis court and a small fitness pavilion. There is ample free parking. The hotel has its own dedicated conference and seminar building and its memorable architecture and lovely garden has made it a famous wedding venue. My wife and I, along with friends, recently pent a weekend break at the hotel. The location, accommodation and food were excellent but the staff really made our stay so enjoyable as a result of their courteous and supportive nature, which exceeded our expectations. We have stayed at a number of country house hotels over the years and Guyers House is one of the best

The grounds are fantastic, very well maintained with neat hedges and cut grass and when I asked who looked after the large acreage, I was told that the gardener had been there for over twenty years. He is a credit to the Hotel. With croquet and tennis also available, it really does provide a lovely location for a relaxing break and also convenient for Bath. Evening meal was very good and the wine was reasonably priced. Breakfast was first class and all the staff were friendly and courteous.

WOW! What a place. Wonderful staff, wonderful food, great bar! We stayed here for one night and it could not have been any better. The staff were so kind. One of them even went to Corsham to get me a new phone charger. And the breakfast was superb! We will be back again!

This was our first visit and the driveway to the hotel is welcoming with lovely gardens. Our room was one in the outside blocks and was clean and comfortable and very quiet. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The food was mostly good, not always hot enough. Sadly the young staff were under pressure and not very well trained. The service was erratic and sometimes very slow. On our last morning it took 20 minutes to get our coffee and place our order which then took another 20 minutes. The hotel is in an excellent position for touring the Bath area and local National Trust sites.

Thank you for your review JMBZ1. I am delighted to hear you found the gardens beautiful, your room clean and our team to be helpful and welcoming. I’m sorry to hear your food wasn’t always hot enough, I’ll be certain to share this with our Head Chef to ensure this doesn’t happen again. We do have a very young but willing team here at Guyers House. We are currently working through a training programme but as I’m sure you will understand this does take time. I’m sorry you experienced waiting times to order at breakfast, this isn’t our usual high standard. Dishes can take up to 20-25 minutes to be prepared as we cook all our dishes fresh to order. We do hope you will visit us again soon.

Writing this after a couple of days of our second stay. The listed Guyers House has history and pride The accommodation is fresh and comfortable. The food is excellent and their varied breakfasts just a great start to the day. The staff are just wonderful. I must mention though the gardens - 6 acres of them. Apparently the gardener has remained unchanged for 23 years and his free hand has enabled the establishment of some of the loveliest combinations of plants, flowers and trees seen anywhere. The lawns, in a pattern, are a credit to his instinct and expertise as well. There are tennis courts and even a croquet lawn not far from the garden lake. The whole place is just ideal for a quiet break away from all the present day hassle. You must try it - the prices are reasonable too !
