We stayed in mid-March. Things didn't start well when we were told the kitchen would be closed the next morning so we'd have to go elsewhere for breakfast (to be fair, they suggested a couple of very nearby alternatives). However, other than this, our welcome was fine, and our room was nice and large. We had dinner in the restaurant,...

We went in with friends, family and a dog after walk. Dogs are only aloud in the bar area and would recommend to book your table if in larger group as the pub is very popular with dog owners. There is real fire place, menu is good and food is nice. Rack of ribs - huge! Service is great. Location...

Stayed at the Castle for 2 nights and it could not have been a better weekend! The landlord, John, is a fantastic character and couldn't have done enough for us. Food was excellent and the upstairs rooms are huge. Great big beds. One of the couples stayed in the courtyard rooms on the first night. These were smaller and could,...

My wife and I were out for a walk by the river and around Bakewell. When it came to lunch time we spotted The castle Inn, it looked inviting and as we could see several people already seated by the windows, so we ventured inside and we were not disappointed. As we stepped inside; on what was a cold day,...

Having realised how much lunch at the peacock was going to cost us (no wonder it is hard to find out the actual price of sunday lunch at the peacock !), we decided to look elsewhere and came upon the castle inn. Welcoming pub with fire and dogs in the bar, just as we like it. Good beer and wine...

Stopped over at The Castle Inn on the spur of the moment as the sign outside said it was dog friendly. Super helpful and cheerful staff food was excellent at lunchtime with a good selection of Ales and lathers. Couldn't ask for anything better oh and the dogs get treats on the house as well.
