Stayed for a weekend at this great pub with my husband and father. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. John the landlord was very helpful and could not do enough for you! Great menu and great food. John makes sure you have everything you need at breakfast and has time for a chat! Will certainly be back!

We enjoyed a three-day stay at this superb pub. Nothing was too much trouble for the landlord, John, who went well out of his way to make our visit as enjoyable as possible. The attention to detail was amazing. The room was spacious, well maintained and serviced and the food was excellent and extremely good value. The breakfast has to...

Reserved a table for dinner at the Castle for 8pm knowing that it would be busy due to The Bakewell show that was on that week. On arrival we were told that the waiting time for food would be half an hour since we had arrived 10 minutes early we thought that was acceptable and would relax and have a...

They have converted two garages at the front of the hotel - the decor is very, very nice indeed. A few niggles - it can be noisy if punters are drinking outside, bottle bank emptying at 7.30am wakes you up quite sharply and the bed is a little too small for my 6'3, 18st frame. Breakfasts are plentiful and well...

Went to this Pub for lunch. It is a quaint old Pub. Good choice on the menu at reasonable prices. We had a home cooked lunch and it was good. Service was very friendly. Would recommend The Castle if you are in Bakewell.

We have stayed at several of the Old English Inns, so chose to stay at the Castle for our stay in Bakewell. There was sufficient parking beside the Inn, and our room was perfectly acceptable. Unfortunately the stay covered the 2 hottest nights of the year, and we only found the fan on the second evening. We had breakfast on...

Dear Phil S, Thanks for reviewing your stay with us at the Castle Inn on Trip advisor. Really happy you enjoyed your time with us here, it was an uncomfortably hot few days. Stayed over the weekend with extended family. Rooms beautifully laid out and very clean, surprisingly large. Breakfast was excellent. My daughter requested a banana with hers and this was provided. The landlord was friendly and helpful, making us all feel very much at home. He went to some trouble to provide pizza for my grandson's dinner.
