We were advised by our hotel to eat in this restaurant. We reserved in advance and were well received. Staff were friendly and professional throughout the evening. The menu was attractive and the food plentiful and well presented. The trouble was the long wait for food then the unacceptable delay between courses. If that was a one off, this is... More

Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I'm glad you enjoyed the food and that the service was of high standard. We were rather busy this particular night, which is why the food took a little longer to get to you but I do apologise. We do try to get food out of the kitchen... More

I was visiting the cathedral and chose this hotel for my overnight stop. It is well located close to the town centre and also to the cathedral (I could see it and hear the clock chimes from my room). There is some parking at the rear of the hotel and a large car park nearby which is not overly expensive... More

We spent one night here on our way south from Aberdeenshire to Kent. Initial impressions were good; friendly greeting, nice building in excellent location, nice room, albeit up two flights of stairs. Room was clean and nicely decorated. Bathroom had a huge walk-in shower which was superb, but the washbasin was minute and the overhanging shelf made using it something... More

We've stayed a couple of times here and it's a great pub with comfortable accommodation. But what sets it apart is the quality of the food served. Yes it's a bit pricey but it's well worth it. Serves great ales as you'd expect from Timothy Taylor's and a good selection of Gins! We will try to get back as soon... More

Arrived in Ripon quite late and walked into the Royal Oak. I don't think we could have done much better. Very pleasant staff found a table for us. The menu is quite small but we still found plenty to choose from. Haddock with poached egg as a starter is enormous. Sticky Ripon Beef is very good indeed. We thought about... More

We were bought an overnight stay of our choice for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary by a couple of very good friend. We opted for the Royal Oak in Ripon. To say this was a good choice is an understatement. The staff were all very helpful, attentive and pleasant who went out of their way to make your stay a good... More

We stayed here on the way back from a trip around Scotland, we took the special offer of room, meal & Breakfast for £125 and better value for money is difficult to find. Although the Inn is in the middle of the town and just a stones throw from the impressive cathedral we were not troubled by noise. The room... More

This pub is beautifully located in the city centre with the wonderful cathedral at the bottom of the street. Our room was surprisingly spacious with a lovely comfy bed. We had our evening meal in the restaurant which was really delicious and the staff could not of been more helpful. Parking is a bit of an issue although there are... More
