Great Hotel. I have 2 days business seminar from my work in this hotel. The food was great, the staff is very polite and the atmosphere is friendly. Go there if you visit Lukovit or you travel to Pleven, Ruse or other city.

We were on a Balkans vacation, and after three nights in Kavala, Greece, were driving north through Bulgaria, bound for Bucharest, Romania, for a week then on to our beloved Cluj-Napoca for the final three weeks of our trip. When we reached Likovit, on the road from Sofia toward Bucharest, it was ten at night, and I was ready to sleep anywhere. Then this modern glass tower loomed into view, seeming an apparition on a dark, dark night. Its sign said, "Diplomat Plaza Hotel," and sported four stars. I told my wife (and precious travelling companion), "We're staying there... I don't care what it costs."

The cost was 70 euros. Amazing. A lovely room, with slippers and bathrobes. A large indoor pool. And as we had not had dinner yet, we were most grateful for the fact that the restaurant crew, which had been closing up as we arrived, responded to the desk clerk's call, and stayed to feed us, and to serve us a badly needed glass of wine.

Nice smell and cleanliness everywhere, a very good spa area (unfortunately pool water is not warmed in the winter), big and cosy rooms, designed in different styles if you choose the luxury ones. In the very center of Lukovit, it has a nice lobby bar and is a good place to stop if you travel between Sofia and Pleven and feel tired, want to make a team building or just 2-3 days off in the province. Room service is also excellent! However, a little bit overpriced for that region.

I was very positively surprised by this hotel. I was never expected that in a small town like Lukovit, there is such a nice hotel. Very modern with excellent SPA and customer service. The only thing I didn't like was the food. But definitely would recommend this hotel for a short stay. There are a lot of interesting attractions in the area.

The Hotel outside is ok (even the internal architecture is strange..), but the internet in the room doesn't function and even in the loby, partially . The second day the breakfast was cold (maybe cooked one day before) and impossible to eat.

This hotel was the closest hotel to where we needed to be. It's considered a luxury hotel, and overall this was a good choice for a hotel. The service was good and had some great amenities like a nice restaurant and a big pool. The room was in good condition as well.

Stopped over for a night before heading on to Veliko Tarnovo. We choose the hotel because it boasted disabled facilities for my wife. When we arrived the parking attendant was very helpful in providing us with a parking space adjacent to the disabled access ramp. Reception was a different matter as the receptionist continued with her (aparent private) telephone call keeping my wife standing at the counter. After we had checked-in the receptionist informed us that we were on the 5th floor and indicated the location of the stairs? My wife has great difficulty walking never mind negotiating stairs. The receptionist then informed us that the lift was out of service and not available. Again the helpful 'Parking Attendant' suggested that we could use the service lift located through the kitchen until the lift was fixed. The room was very well decorated and comfortable and the food in the restrauant was very good all served by very attentative staff, by the time we were ready for bed the lift was fixed and all returned to normal.
Next morning breakfast was served 6 to 10am in a dining area adjacent to the spa, however the staff commenced removing items from the buffet at 9:45am starting with the coffee machine!
At check-out, the same receptionist was again on the telephone (again from the tones it was not a business call). The receptionist questioned why I only claimed that we had 2 bottles of water from the mini-bar and had other cleaning staff check the room before making out the bill. We have stayed in many hotels in Bulgaria, I think the management need to retrain their reception staff.
