Parking onsite, friendly check-in, an upgrade as the Hotel was not as busy on Boxing night definitely gets this hotel our vote as an alternative to city establishments. We had a large room with the comfiest bed and all the basics one requires. A charming and atmospheric conversion of a large home of yesteryear into this private hotel , we...

The staff at the McLaren Hotel were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The room was spacious but the bathroom was a bit small. Overall, the hotel had a cozy, personal atmosphere and was a lovely place to stay.

From check in to check out, staying here was an absolute pleasure. The gentleman on the front desk was lovely, the room was large and tidy. The wallpaper made me want to stay forever. Bathroom very clean, could smell the disinfectant when I came back after cleaning. Bed was stupidly comfortable. Literally do not have one bad thing to say....

We booked three nights over the weekend at the McLaren Hotel because the other hotels in North Sydney were too expensive. Our cost per night was $160 in a Kingsize room. It was a really pleasant experience! More like a spacious B&B so more personal than a large hotel. Rooms very spacious, clean and bed very comfortable. Upstairs rooms have...

Thank you for the fantastic review! And for mentioning the coffee machine! We have only recently acquired it and thought it may add more value to our continental breakfasts. It's obviously working! Kind Regards Billy

A great place to stay, so close to the city but far enough away to be peaceful. Also very affordable with a very reasonably priced breakfast. North Sydney railway station is a short walk away as are several restaurants and shops.

This is a charming small hotel built in what once was a stately home. The rooms though not large are very tastefully furnished and comfortable. There is no in house dining apart from a very basic breakfast of cereal, toast and coffee. Luckily there is a very good Italian restaurant at the end of the street or a short walk...

A nice little 'guesthouse' style hotel only a couple of blocks from the North Sydney CBD. Very convenient for business travel, being only a flat(ish) 5 min walk from Berry St, and a range of restaurants nearby to choose from. Staff are always very helpful and friendly.
