Our friends had recommended Toba’s BNB as they had visited several times and they loved the location and the hosts. Our experience truly lived up to all they had expressed and more. Upon arriving, we were pleasantly surprised to see the beauty of this huge home across from the stunning LaHave River. What a view! The hosts Kelly and Cathy, were so friendly, bubbly, gracious, and genuinely excited to have us stay at their beautiful home. We were given a detailed tour of the home and it’s features upon arrival which was extra special. Everything was so clean. Each room had its own special charm about it, and the design of the home, pictures, and furnishings were all so quaint, comfortable yet elegant, and so full of character... it made the home just come to life. You instantly felt relaxed, cozy, and at ‘home’ while on vacation. Kelly & Cathy prepared both supper and breakfast for us, as well as snacks and dessert. The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation of the meal was like being at a high end restaurant. We felt like honored guests! We relaxed in the evening playing various games, talking, and laughing. We had a wonderful sleep on the most comfortable bed. After an amazing breakfast in the morning and delicious coffee cake, we all sat around the table with Kelly, Cathy, and Tony talking, laughing, telling stories. We were making new friends. It all felt so comfortable, like we knew them forever. They were genuinely interested in getting to know us, and us getting to know them throughout the entire visit. Something about that was extra special. In the past we normally stayed at hotels or air bnb’s... but this unique bed and breakfast has made us realize all we have been missing. A bed and breakfast is not just about a room to sleep in... it’s about an ‘experience’ where you feel like special guests, new friends, and you learn about the area and the residents. That’s the way to truly experience the Maritimes and all it has to offer. After all the Covid has taken from the world through distancing...we all need to experience unity again in the way Kelly and Cathy pour themselves and their joy and acceptance into their guests. Even a mask couldn’t stop that feeling from coming through. I highly recommend a visit at Toba’s in the future. You will very impressed and I am sure will become the newest member in the ever growing Toba’s family. Sincerest thanks to Kelly and Cathy for such a memorable experience. …
This place is so wonderful. It is family run by a mother daughter team. They are so thoughtful, kind and totally concern that you have a 5 star experience. I really can’t even describe how wonderful it was. They gave me faith that there are some amazing BnB’s.
Beautiful 100 + year old sea captain's house. Beautifully restored and decorated. Large room with bathroom and view of the water. Kathy and Kelly do an amazing job of making everyone feel right at home. Little extra's like homemade cookies and wine available anytime. Kathy, Kelly and all the guests gathered in the family room/parlor for conversation in the evening. It was really great. Lovely breakfast next morning. Great area to visit. Would highly recommend this B&B to everyone.
Perfect B&B as a base to travel Nova Scotia. Lunenberg is 15 min away, we loved Mahone Bay, took a closeby ferry across the water to a local bakery. (so busy there, in the middle of now where) and did 3 wine tours! Toba's was very clean. We slept well in a large comfortable room. Our bay window view was of the water front, fabulous to open up to in the morning! We both have food sensitivities so we were very appreciative of the delicious breakfast accomodations made for us.Thank you for a fabulous experience!
Our three night stay was absolutely perfect. We arrived after dark and were greeted with cookies and a hug- a perfect combination after a long day of travel. Toba's is a beautiful period home with the warmth of Kelly and Cathy ensuring all the comforts of home. Breakfast each morning was a gourmet delight on a beautifully set table- we felt so special yet just like family. We shared great conversations around the table as well as on the front porch watching sunset with a glass of wine. We look forward to a return visit- we hated to leave.
