The Shelburne Lodge is a fascinating historic home in a beautiful setting. Our room was very large, as was the bathroom, and very comfortable. The bed was great. Above all, Maura, our host, was wonderful. A trained chef, she created breakfasts that were among the best meals (not just breakfasts) we had in Ireland. She was also helpful and delightful... More

The Lodge is an historic home set in lovely grounds in the pretty town of Kenmare. The hosts are THE BEST. Maura is a fabulous cook and one of the kindest people you'll meet -- and obviously a great manager. Tom is a delightful conversationalist, and each is a font of information on the best things to see and do... More

Spent a fabulous evening at the Shelburne Lodge. Beautiful home set back from the road. Only a few minutes walk to town! My parents and I stayed in a room with one large bed and a twin. The owners are cheery, knowledgeable, and kind. Breakfast was delicious. I had the honey cream porridge and pancakes! Wish we could have stayed... More

Friendly staff, fabulous breakfast, clean and well appointed room. Very helpful with dinner reservations and local tour ideas. Easy stroll into "downtown". A small downside...bedrooms are upstairs and no elevator.

We were warmly welcomed at Shelburne Lodge and greatly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were beautifully kept and the grounds of the property are a quiet refuge from the main area of town. The traditional breakfast and tea selections were delicious.

I am not the world's biggest b&b person but found Shelburne to be a delight. On a lovely plot of land a short walk from town, it's delightful manor from the 1700's. Great hosts and a multi-option breakfast that has something for everyone one. In room shower/tub and toilet.

We spent two nights at the Shelburne Lodge. Truly felt as if we were stepping back in time. The owners were very nice and welcoming, the rooms clean and spacious. Tom does a beautiful job with the garden, and the fresh flowers in the room were a nice touch. Breakfast was very good, especially the cinnamon apples with whiskey cream.... More

This was my favorite of all the places we stayed in Ireland! It is a historic B&B with beautiful furnishings and grounds. Makes you feel like you stepped back in time. Just a short walk to the downtown area area which offers plenty of restaurants and shopping. Our hostesses were welcoming and so very helpful with dinner reservations as they... More
