Somewhere between a rustic cottage and a fancy bed and breakfast. This was the most romantic B&B we stayed in on our trip across Ireland. The house and grounds were so charming, we felt like we were in "The Shire" from Lord of the Rings! Brightly colored flowers, stone artistry, and greenery enveloped the cottage. Our room was a comfy refuge,...

Lissyclearig Thatched Cottage is new construction of old-world style in country living design. Our room was quite comfortable with an in-suite bathroom. The common rooms are spacious and comfortable, fully of homemade quality furniture from the proprietor. The dining area was comfortable with plenty of room for a full house where you will dine on a classic Irish breakfast made...

Upon arriving at Lissyclearig Cottage, you are immediately struck by the cottage and surrounding garden, alot of love and imagination has gone into this B&B. I also received a most delightful welcome from a lovely young chocolate Labrador :-) Carmel, the lady of the house welcomed me with a pot of tea and some fruit-cake, which was a thoughtful touch...

The cottage was Devine as was the hostess and the home cooked breakfast. It was a little out of town but if you have a car that's no big deal. Rooms were clean could do with a bit of an update but loved staying here anyway.

Lots of oohs and aahs as we drove up. The place is so charming. The "lady of the house" (can't remember her name) was charming, helpful, and delightful. Our rooms were small, the bathroom slightly "not clean". But the beds were comfortable and it was very quiet. Internet didn't work and phone service was sketchy.

Only 3 Kms from Kenmare, we had dinner at a restaurant in Town. Not to most welcoming hosts: Never even saw Davey! We chose the Dingle Peninsula to drive around, then the Cliffs of Mohr. A good breakfast served.

I chose this place because it was unique and away from the town. It turned out to be the most wonderfully creative oasis I could have found. Carmel was a joy and fed us a wonderful breakfast. Her husband is the creative genius who built the house, walls, most of the furniture, and all the fun sculptures in the garden....

Very unique style house with beautiful gardens and personal touches throughout. Small jaunt, about 3 km, from town which is a nice walk after sitting all day, but since the road is so narrow I would probably recommend driving into town for dinner. We were unable to stay for breakfast as we had to get an early start to Dingle....

lissyclearig thatched cottage is prob the coolest place we stayed during our short week in Ireland. From the moment we turned for the driveway we smiled as the flowers were blooming at us. WOW! Its beautiful we thought! Thank you so much Carmel & Davey for a wonderful stay. Everything in this house is handcrafted. The beds, chairs, mirrors on...

One of the handful of thatched cottages in Ireland and was a cute place it is. Our room was clean and very nice. Breakfast was outstanding. Good home cooking style. Best place to start your Ring of Kerry trip. Remember, go counter clockwise to avoid having the tour buses coming right at you. For Dingle peninsula go clockwise. I will...
