The Captain's House is central in Dingle so you don't have to crawl far after a night in the pubs. Its an old guest house that has well-worn charm. They stock your room with essentials for the kitchen and everything is in working order. The proprietors are wonderful and "the Captain" was a career Royal Navy Officer and and a... More

We've traveled to many places over many years and have seldom come across accommodations and hosts that were this exceptional. First of all, Mary and Jim Milhench will make you feel part of the family and will do anything to make you feel comfortable. We were surprised and delighted that, when our two-room suite wasn't available for our full stay,... More

I am not a B&B person, so this place was perfect. All the joys of home along with the privacy. Jim and Mary are great hosts who are there for anything you need, but you'll have your own kitchen (nicely stocked BTW) and no shared meals. I can't wait to return!

We felt like this looked better on Trip Advisor than it actually was. We had the Inishowen suite on the ground floor, although you have to go up and then down a short set of stairs to get there. Checking in was a bit of a circus, with the owner's kids running around and through us, demanding attention for everything... More

During our stay in Ireland, this was the only real disappointment. This is a rather expensive place to stay and what it is offering does not warrant its steep price. We stayed in the self-catering annex to the Captain's House, yet on a B&B basis. The room smells rather musty and my son immediately wanted to flee the place. It... More

We loved the Captain's House so very much! We were pleasantly surprised after booking through email to find that we had a full apartment with a living room, kitchen, and a patio outside. We enjoyed being able to wash some clothes, cook breakfast, and soak in a great bath. It was very homey and the beds were incredibly comfortable! The... More

What a lovely place to stay. We had the 3 bedroom apartment and with a bathroom in every bedroom we could get ready in the morning in a hurry. Jim and his wife are delightful and looked after us to no end. Highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon tour of the west coast and it is utterly delightful. Nicely located on a quiet lane in the centre of Dingle, we stayed in the Fanad suite, a cosy self catered apartment on two floors with a spiral staircase up to the bedroom. It's a very comfortable home away from home... More

It was nice for my family - five adults and a one year old to have such a conveniently located "home" in Dingle. We could walk to restaurants, walking paths, grocery store and pubs! The well stocked kitchen complete with chocolate or lemon cake allowed us to enjoy a leisurely breakfast every day before heading out on our adventures. The... More

We stayed one night at the Captain's House in May. We were traveling with our daughter so they offered us the Rathlin Suite which was great! There was a kitchen, living room and bedroom downstairs and two more bedrooms upstairs, so we had lots of room to spread out! The suite also had a washer and dryer in the kitchen.... More
