The room also had a smart tv with netflix which was great to chill after exploring all day.
The house itself is lovely and in the best location in Dingle. There is no reserved parking and parking across the road is 1 euro an hour upto 8pm. However directly outside the house there is free parking on the street and in the evening there are spaces or in the morning.
The staff Karen and Ann were lovely , really excellent!!
I didn't have breakfast in the morning but Ann was always offering coffee and biscuits. Was very nice having at the outside seating area in the morning looking at the harbour.
Only con would be as it's an old house there is no sound proofing so you can hear noise from rooms next to you. This didn't bother me at all anyway but is worth pointing out.
Overall it's excellent value for money and I would definitely stay again!
The Westport is located along the main waterfront street. The hotel is good for a visit to Dingle. All of the town amenities are within walking distance from the hotel. The rooms are on the smaller side but they are sufficient and very clean. The lodge does have the ability to provide breakfast, but we opted out. Parking is available on the street or across the street at the large parking lot which is used for daytime use. There is no private parking lot.
Karen, the receptionist at the front desk, is very friendly and helpful. She even baked us fresh cookies during one of the days. There is no elevator so you need to be able to walk up stairs if your room is on the top floor.
While the location is good it’s not much better than the other offerings in the town.
I arrived in dingle with a group and compared to the others accommodation for 2/3rds of the price the waterfront is found to be severely lacking.
In fairness the greeting was warm and welcoming and the room was clean. Bed also comfortable.
I was staying in room number 6 a smaller room with a garden view (very small window you can’t see out of unless you get on your hand and knees!)
But make no mistake about it the room is very small. Barely enough space both sides of the bed to stand wouldnt recommend for a couple
The shower was an adequate size but the toilet in a separate smaller cupboard wouldnt suit anyone used to a bit of space. The sink in the toilet cupboard is tiny.
I was charged €110 for the night with no breakfast included before I even got to see my room haha!
While there are tea and coffee facilities in the room my kettle didn’t seem to be working and I had no teaspoons and there were none in the communal area downstairs when I got up.
Can’t recommend as no real value for money I certainly won’t be staying here again.
Go elsewhere unless you’re seriously stuck for digs.
Ok - I don’t like having to write negative reviews but after travelling and staying at 14 other B and Bs in the past 2 months it’s fair to say there were comparisons to be made!
The room was so small there was no room to place even a small suitcase. (As a previous reviewer correctly said”no room to swing a cat”
We left it all in the car and brought in a change daily.
The bathroom was an oversized closet with a sliding door that frequently slid off its track. Pretty grotty. But clean
Water pressure for shower very weak.
Finally I developed a series of bites the day we left there so I would recommend you bring your own toiletries and soap.
The good:
Clean and good location.
There’s a large choice of B and Bs and $140 Euros per night was the highest we paid.
( the night before we stayed at the lovely 4 star Old Grounds Hotel for the same price)
Also, the property is in a fantastic location, central to shops, pubs and restaurants.
I will definitely stay here when I visit Dingle again.
Karen made our stay extremely comfortable and enjoyable. She was an excellent host and her warm nature made us feel super comfortable.
Rooms were great- clean, beds comfortable and bright. Lovely view across the harbour.
Location is excellent. I would return and would struggle to book anywhere else after such an enjoyable stay.
"The small double is tight if you are staying for more than a couple of days or have lots of luggage. Location is excellent on main street."Read full review
