My husband and I went to Dorrian's for Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed it was delicious.
This was our first time in the hotel with its old world charm; the waiting staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming. We had starters and a main course each; sadly we were both too full for a dessert, but they looked lovely.
The meal was finished with coffee, not just a cup but a pot of delicious coffee.
We will certainly be returning ....... soon !

We stayed in Dorrians for three nights and had a lovely time. The bedroom was quite big and comfortable. One great advantage was that it had two comfy chairs rather than the usual one you find in hotels. Car parking available at the back and a very central location in the town. The reception area has plenty of comfortable seating. The dining room is large with lots of tables. Breakfast good - fruit juice, cereals tea and toast and a cooked breakfast to order. Better than many places where the eggs are sitting out for a time. This was served hot. We ate in the dining room on our last night and had a good range of dishes. I had duck spring rolls with chilli sauce followed by roast pork with apple. My husband had breaded mushrooms and baked cod. Friendly service. We did several day trips to Streedagh beach, Mullaghmore, and to Rossnowlagh and a trip round the Truscmor horseshoe loop and a trip to the Salthill Gardens in Mountcharles, as well as exploring the town - for example St Patricks well and the Abbey.

Quaint quirky traditional hotel. If you want to experience old ireland with the best family atmosphere this is for you. It’s not modern or fine cuisine. But you won’t be hungry if you like good home cooking. Have stayed here several times and loved it. The owners are fully present and overseeing team. On this occasion we travelled through Ballyshannon and stopped for evening meal. Apart from fast food all other places were closed. Called into Dorrians bar area and met Patrick who informed us restaurant had closed 10 mins ago but would check if chef could accommodate us. We were in luck and had lovely meal.
Thank you to chef and Patrick for looking after 6 hungry travelers will definitely be back.

In 1970s time warp. No duvets only sheets and blankets, Yale keys to doors temperamental. Food was basic, poorly cooked and presented. Hot water system varied depending on your room, mine had only cold. Owner seemed to think all the problems were the fault of the guest.

Called in to this hotel in the morning time to see about booking a table for 15 and we were told the restaurant was fully booked but no problem if we want to eat in the bar and to come for 6:30pm. When we arrived we were told they could not cater for our group. There are currently no other places to eat other than takeaways and currently lots of tables available in the bar of this hotel. While walking to see where else we can eat we met another group of about 7 people who were also refused a table in this hotel.

We had lunch at Dorrian’s on a Saturday afternoon in July. The family run hotel is located in the middle of Ballyshannon is very clean, and well maintained with excellent staff. The décor in the hotel is also quite charming. The standard of food and the choice on offer was also very good. Overall a very enjoyable experience to be repeated.

Called in for some lunch on sat afternoon 29th July. I am sorry I didn't get the name of the lady at reception who greeted so warmly and looked after us so friendly and professional for our short time there. After travelling from dingle to Donegal over 2 weeks she was one of the people who's service stood out. Well done.

My husband and I had the pleasure of having our wedding in Dorrians on 21st of February. From the initial meeting with Mary the decision was made and it was definitely the correct decision. The food, service and hospitality of Mary, Ben and all the team was fantastic. The little touches, such as the tables fitting in with the bridesmaids colour scheme made our special day perfect. We have found our location for any future family events. Thank you to the Dorrians team, we look forward to returning.

Loved this hotel. Loved its old Irish charm, loved that it had blankets and sheets.spotlessly clean.Good food.Friendly staff. If you want a modern hotel don’t stay here . We really loved it . Ballyshannon dosent have much to offer but has beautiful walks and the friendliest of people..
