I emailed hotel looking for a family room on a last minute decision and they replied promptly with a cancellation. I had never stayed in bundoran but I was delighted to get any kind of family room at this time of year. We arrived at 4pm and check in was efficient. The lobby of hotel seems quite new compared to the outside of the hotel. We went to the room and I was surprised to find 2 separate rooms within the family room, I was delighted with this. The room had views looking out to the beach and playground and part of amusement Park. It was perfect location. Room itself could do with a spruce, the carpet definitely would benefit from a good clean and the beds are a bit wobbly, there is a round table in the room which I can appreciate the need but it was nearly too big for room. The room was hot but sure we are in the middle of unprecedented temperatures so I don't blame the hotel for that! I We stayed on B&B rate so breakfast was basic and I think covid may be to blame for this. I would have loved to option of some fruit or flavoured yoghurts, very limited choices. would happily recommend this hotel to a family, it is a perfect location and the room was a perfect size for a family of 5 or even 6 if allowed, which is hard to find in Ireland. I think it would definitely benefit from a deep clean and a general spruce.

I have stayed in many hotels across all continents and whilst the Grand Central Hotel is a basic hotel, the staff are happy friendly people who will help in any way with a smile. The bar food was excellent and the service wonderful. Breakfast could do with a bit more choice as in pastries, fruit, pancakes etc etc but nice food none the less. Rooms were basic but clean and the cleaning staff were very efficient. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to friends or family.

I stayed here with my partner during the last week of July. To say you get what you pay for really comes to mind as the hotel itself is very outdated. The staff here were fantastic and very friendly and helpful. We had four different meals over the course of two days and being genuinely honest, I was surprised with how good it was each time. It’s a shame the owners haven’t invested in updating the furnishings in the rooms and the hotel itself as it’s situated bang in the middle of the town. I would recommend to anyone looking for something cheap and cheerful. Would pop back in for grub, without hesitation.

Arrived on Wednesday for 3 nights but had such an amazing time, also the weather was unbelievable so we booked an extra 2 nights. The staff in this hotel are nothing short of amazing from the receptionists, housekeeping/cleaning staff, bar/restaurant staff and the Night Porter.

The hotel has many government guidelines in place to keep guests safe from Covid-19. Multiple sanitisation stations throughout the hotel, masks to be worn when walking through hotel (able to take them off once seated). Only guests are currently able to use the restaurant/bar and the seating area out the front of the hotel which is great as not many places have these outside areas at the moment. Throughout my stay the housekeeping staff never stopped cleaning. The staffs efforts to keep this hotel clean/safe for guests is incredible.

The food in the restaurant here is 5star quality, I’d say the best meal we had the entire time we were in Bundoran. The bar staff were always helpful anytime we needed anything or example some ice for our room for some drinks upstairs once the bar was closed.

Night Porter Kevin was a legend.

Will definitely be booking here again when we come back to Bundoran once everything in town reopens, looking forward to it.

We booked a 1 night stay as a birthday treat. Unfortunately from the moment we arrived there was nothing but problems. While checking in the staff member couldn't be any less interested in helping. We had requested a late check out which she was very quick to point out would cost us an extra €20 (we knew this might be the case so didn't really mind that)

We then made our way to the room which looked like it hadn't been cleaned. There was a lot of dust on the bedside lockers and the table. The stool under the table was in a terrible condition and needs to be replaced. My wife went down to reception to make them aware and see if we could get a room move. She was told by receptionist "The only room I have would mean breaking up a group and I don't want to do that to accommodate someone like you". We ended up getting cleaning supplies and cleaning it ourselves. My wife asked if there was a manager on duty to be told there wasn't. For a bank holiday Sunday this seems a bit strange.

We decided to go for a bite to eat in the bar, The initial waitress was very friendly and took our order with a fairly good attitude. We ordered a burger and steak. My wife is coeliac and we are assured that everything was Gluten Free. The waitress came back and told us that there was wheat in the burger and asked if she would like something else. She decided to have bacon and cabbage. When this arrived the cabbage was cold as ice. We asked for fresh cabbage but all that was done was that it was stuck in the microwave and all the food was as dry as a bone.

When we decided to call it a night if felt like we were sleeping in a sauna. We had left the window open but it was still unbearably warm. I woke up covered in sweat and felt horrible starting my day off like that. Breakfast was nearly the best part but was still noting special.

All in all this was a very disappointing stay and I would not recommend this hotel to any family or friends.

Just after phoning to enquire about two rooms and you would have swore we rang a random number rather than a hotel. No polite welcoming hello your through to the grand central hotel, just dry responses. Asked if any availability throughout the summer and the response was basically go away can't be bothered with your phone call! This isn't the first time I have had poor customer service from this hotel and we would have stayed with them every year in room 110 or other family room since I was a child. We wanted to give them a second chance as usually this hotel is the best in the town but after today's phone call, and previous communications we will never set foot back in it again or recommend it to anyone. Appalling customer service!!

First time staying here and won't be back. Rooms badly need refurbished, stains on carpets and very poor lighting, only light was one lamp on our bedside locker,no lighting on ceiling.
Breakfast was a disaster. We queued for cooked breakfast only to be told there were no fryed or scrambled eggs ready. We sat at table to wait 5 minutes. Queued again for a full Irish, this time they had no sausages or bacon, had to wait again, by the time they came out the rest of breakfast was cold. Complained to waitress and asked to speak to who was in charge but no one came out.
This is the first time I have ever felt the need to write a bad review. Just wanted to share our experience as these places are not cheap and this particular hotel is not value for money.
Needless to say we won't be back

We arrived here on a Saturday evening having booked online seeing lovely photographs of the rooms. The minute we entered the room I saw dirty carpet, stained curtains and very dated furniture (nothing like the pictures online). I rang reception asking for a change of room thinking they had just given us one of the older rooms that hadn't been refurbished. We were given a choice of two other rooms which were the exact same decor with one of the rooms being slightly bigger being the only difference. We opted to stay rather than take an almost 3 hour drive to return home. We asked for a refund for the second night and did not stay. The food for dinner was average and breakfast was just OK. Would not recommend this hotel and will not be back.

Went in for something to eat with family and ended up leaving before eating. Staff didn’t want to know and I found a lady on the bar to be quite rude. Had to find a member of staff to ask for menus and were given one menu for a full family. Multiple tables had not been cleared and another customer had to ask for hers to be cleared. Ours was eventually cleared but then no staff came to take our order so we left. Wouldn’t recommend.

We arrived and paid £96.83 sterling at the reception. I asked about car parking and advise there was car parking at the back. This parking was at the end of a hill and you had to pay.I returned to reception and the girl said we didn't have to pay as the wardens were off.She missed the point of having to leave our car where it would not be seen. She asked me why what car are you driving ??I asked for a refund which she proceeded to do.When I got the refund returned to my bank it was for £78.88 ??? How does that work out we were in that hotel less than 10 minutes So not only travelling from Belfast we were not even paid our full refund.Stay away worst experience ever.
