A group of 4 of us (all adults) had dinner in the restaurant and we were very disappointed. It was nothing more than expensive carvery! Main courses consisted of a single plate with a very small amount of meat / fish of choice (from a selection of about 4) and shared vegetables that could scarcely be called side dishes -...

My husband took me here as a surprise for my 40th birthday last week. We stayed at the Lake Lodge, which has private double rooms with a shared kitchen and living areas etc We didn't realise that it was a shared house until we arrived, though it is fabulous and the views are gorgeous. There was no wifi however and...

Excellent reception by the first member of staff we encountered. Throughout our stay the outstanding aspect was the courtesy and care shown by every member of staff. If only all hotels could be the same. Our room in the main house was comfortable but it needed the manager to stay in it for one night to make a note of...

We stayed here for 1 night for a friend's wedding and I wish we could have stayed longer!! We had a double room and it was the most spacious, stylish and comfortable room I have ever stayed in. Massive bed! The service was superb from start to finish; the staff were without exception friendly, polite and extremely helpful. The food...

We just want to thank all in Liss Ard for the wonderful stay we had there last week (Wed) as part of our honeymoon in gorgeous West Cork. It is a beautiful place to stay and we thoroughly enjoyed the surrounds and beautiful food, Special mention to Brita and the chef on the night who had arranged a surprise bottle...

We were at a wedding recently in Liss Ard Estate and while the food was good facilities for disabled guests fall so far short of basic that I awarded it 0 stars on my own blog able2access.wordpress.com

Arrived here last Monday afternoon in the summer season to have tea and see the gardens only to be told no we can't have tea that the restaurant doesn't open until six and the gardens are only open Tuesday to Thursday! Staff were so rude! I left raging! How can they be unable to make tea? We didn't want anything...

Horrendous experience. I just spent last 2 nights in this estate. Our room was awful , everything about it was shabby. The bathroom/toilet was a makeshift one with a curtain separating from bedroom. There was a foul sewage smell coming from pipes at times. Furniture was cheap and definitely not in keeping with manor living. I could not get over...

We visited LisArd for our son;s wedding and enjoyed every minute of our two night stay . One highlight was visiting the Sky Garden at 1:30 in the morning on the 14th August . A cloudless night with no moon . The Canopy of stars was amazing and the site of comets passing overhead and the occasional meteorite shooting overhead...

Booked on line and arrived at teatime. I had received a text giving me information and a call on the way down which was really helpful and reassuring. Had a room looking out over garden adjacent to the house. Very functional but the reception rooms in main house available and very comfortable to read in. Really good sleep and breakfast...
