Now that I've finally completed cycling the Wild Atlantic Way, looking back over the whole journey from Kinsale to Derry I can definitely say that Sea Breeze at Castletownbere was the best bed & breakfast I stayed in. Noralene McGurn gave a genuinely warm welcome and her porridge was absolutely the best, using organic oatmeal - we could really taste... More

Noralene is a fantastic host! She's discreet, and warm, and very gracious-- the perfect greeting after getting off a long and harrowing day's drive. My husband and I are traveling the wild Atlantic way on our honeymoon, and this was a perfect introductory stop on a few counts. First off, the lodgings are very cozy and well appointed. The water... We stayed two nights at the Sea Breeze, having arrived from a long journey from Dublin. The room was large, quiet, and comfortable and the bathroom was super. Breakfast was ample and delicious, and everyone was very helpful. We stayed there again the second night after our first day of hiking on Bere Island. It was just lovely. The view... More

Sea Breeze (a modern, exquisitely designed, built for purpose B&B) was the ideal accommodation for our extended stay while exploring the delightful Beara Peninsula. Our room, overlooking the sea, was spacious, tastefully furnished and well equipped. We particularly enjoyed the use of the guests' well appointed lounge, again with extensive sea views across to Bere Island. Noralene is the most... More

Noralene is a superb host. She is very genuine and caring, especially when the group got very wet one day after the walk. It is in a great location just 10 minute walk from town. It was so easy to work with her from my point of view as the guide of a large walking group.

Our hiking group of fourteen was treated to delicious breakfasts, adorned with freshly picked rosemary, served by our gracious host, who also packed our lunches and made sure we had tea or coffee, clean towels, hairdryers and adaptors. We explored the interesting town of Castletownbere, but always felt at home when we returned to the Sea Breeze.

The food was excellent!! The rooms were nice and clean, but it lacked a gathering place before breakfast. The view was lovely. It was approximately a mile to town for dinner and another mile back. My only suggestion would be to give guests two room keys.

My husband, 7 yo daughter, and I visited Castletownbere to research the Sullivan family roots. Noralene and her family & staff provided excellent accommodation and service to make our trip so memorable. Our room was good, but the sitting room made all the difference especially with a bit of rain during our stay. We lounged in the cozy sitting room... More

I cannot begin to find the words to explain how wonderful our trip to Sea Breeze was. It was the best stay at a B&B in Ireland that we've had. Noralene and her family are wonderful, they treat you like royalty and are constantly working to make your stay the best it can be. The rooms are kept up and... More
