We would never be ones to complain but after how we were treated we have made an exception.

We arrived to find no parking space in a very cramped car park and were met by an owner with an unfriendly manner. There are only two toilets, one of which doesn't flush and only one shower.

We asked could we park on the grass next to our tent as we had seen a station wagon parked on some grass and were given a very blunt no way, no parking on the grass. As it turned out we had no where else to park so we had some of the car on the gravel, but most of it on the grass. We left for 45 minutes and returned to a sign on the car saying "I said no driving on the grass, take your tent and leave". There was also a no driving on the grass sign on the other tent with us. The car that had been next to us had moved so we were then able to move off the grass.

When we approached the office to discuss the issue with the owner and explain why we had parked on the grass in the first place and how we had now moved we were very rudely shouted at "I told ye ye were not to park on the grass, take your tent and leave" and had the door slammed in our faces before we could explain our situation and further question why the other station wagon was allowed to remain on the grass.

We were very disappointed as we had been greatly looking forward to our trip to Schull, we would not recommend this campsite to anyone.

What a perfect little gem in the heart of schull village , walking distance to everything . The owner jean is friendly, very helpful and More than accommodating and has gone above and beyond over the years to make our stay memorable. My kids and I love it here and we look forward to it every year, we highly recommend this place .

Stayed Jul 2018. I was very surprised to see such poor reviews. Yes, this campsite is basic, but that's also it's charm. The site is very pretty, organic & a little suntrap. The shower was warm, the toilet flushed :-). Managed to spruce ourselves up (blowdry & styled hair) in the garage with plugs. For me, much better than the larger 'sterile' campsites. Very quaint & lent itself to a friendly atmosphere between guests.
I can understand that parking may be a problem if needing to access car all the time. We were in a small campervan.
Hoping to visit again in 2021

Poor facilities. One shower. Tiny space. Little to no parking. Unprofessional owner.

We really enjoyed our spin around skull and our drive up mount Gabriel. We would just not recommend staying in Summerfield.

All i can say is its in a good location. After that it doesnt tick any other box. Not for family. Schull is beautiful but campsite lacks so much. Very uneven ground,a garage with socket on wall for power shared with all. Campers drunk singing and talking loudly until 3am. Looks like no rules. Might suit young revellers with its proximity to main street.

Awesome little campsite. Simple and clean. We stayed here last Wednesday and Jean is really nice. We had our two dogs with us and is was no problem at all. The campsite is literally a 90 second walk into the centre of Schull. Theres 2 hard standing pitches and the rest is grass perfect for tents. We'll definitely be back. At €15 for the night and it being so clean and so close to the town. There should be more places like this around towns.
