Detailed Reviews
Just spent two wonderful nights at Seaview with two other couples. This was our 6th stay at this fabulous B&B. The rooms, the breakfast, the location and the view are PERFECT!!!! Mealla and Martin have continued a wonderful tradition started by Nora. She would be so proud. Mealla and Martin make you feel so at home and cannot do enough to help with directions, and suggestions to make your trip even more meaningful. Can't wait to come back in two years.

The rooms are clean, the breakfast is excellent and the views are superb. They have a lovely enclosed sun room that allows you to enjoy the views regardless of the weather. Martin directed us to a lovely old pub and restaurant complete with thatched roof and Irish history just down the road called Seanachai, the food was excellent. We enjoyed our stay so much we came back and stayed again before we left Ireland.

Mealla is a wonderful host and this is a lovely guesthouse for a stay in Dungarvan. The rooms are really nice & clean. We had the place to ourselves as we were a hen night group of 17 ladies. The gueshouse itself is about a 10 min drive from the town, 2 mins drive in the Cork direction is the Marine Bar which we had a great trad session in. Mealla was very kind and collected us that night. I would highly recommend Christy's Marine Bar if you are after a trad session. The breakfast is lovely in this guesthouse also and the views are stunning! Enjoy your stay and thank you Mealla!

Having read previous reviews I booked this B&B.I was so disappointed.Firstly I didn't get a great welcome on arriving, just handed a bunch of keys, the room was very very poor cobwebs in corners, tea/coffee stains on lockers had to use baby wipes to clean it myself, the bedside lamp shades could do with been changed, we had no showers as we were afraid to use it , dirty brown grout/ stains and along the shower door very dirty a bottle of bleach would do a big job here. I bought disinfectant to put on toilet before we used it. Beds were comfortable. There was a pull out bed in room, very uncomfortable kept coming apart throughout the night, child ended up sleeping in our bed, which was a small double, stains also on the sofa/bed covers. On arriving at breakfast we were never greeted or asked if we slept ok.We ordered breakfast and were told they had no black/white pudding this morning !!!!! our breakfast consisted of 2 rashers, 2 sausages, an egg, a fried tomato. 2 slices of toast were halved and put on the table between 4 of us, leaving 2 spaces in the toast holder,(we saw no homemade bread,)I had to ask for more, had to ask for orange juice, milk and took butter from another table as I was so fed up of asking for items. the cereal bowls were so small my daughter asked me why are we using baby bowls. The yogurt was poured into an unattractive bowl not even a few choices of carton yogurt were available. Two segments of tinned peaches and tinned grapefruit were left swimming in their own juices, I found the whole thing very penny pinching experience. The room was for a family of 4 we got 2 mugs, 2 tiny milk sachets no spoon, thankfully I had a calpol spoon in my bag!!!!. The towels could have done with some comfort. I have stayed in many B&B's but his was the worst. I was wondering if the business has changed hands since the reviews were done previously on their site. It is a very dated B& B that could do with been modernised I personally believe the views of Dungarvan bay is attracting the business. I don't think I would book a B&B again based on reviews. I went towards Dungarvan town and found many B&B's to choose from to spent another two days of our break. Very disappointing experience here.

While the sleeping arrangements and breakfast were within standards for a B&B in Ireland, especially for the price, the hospitality was a bit lacking. We did not feel so much as guests in a nice B&B, but like a burden on the family that runs the place. Perhaps they were having a bad day or perhaps it is their normal mood, but either way, we did not feel welcomed in this B&B as much as we did in the others we stayed in during our 10 days in Ireland. The funny thing is that we met the owners sister while in town at a local shop (also runs a B&B) and were told that we could have stayed at her place cheaper and we would have felt more welcomed (which seemed likely, since she was very rosey). On a side note, while it is called Seaview, it is not exactly on the sea. You can see the sea about 3-5km away, but not something you would want to walk to (all downhill). I am sure they might be okay for some, but they were not our cup of tea.

I was told I could not check in until 5pm. The room was cold and she turned on the heating but it went off after an hour. I could not get to speak to anyone to ask for the heating to be turned back on. Also there is only Saorview TV, so there is only a choice of RTE1, RT2, TV3 & TG4 to watch. There were ants in the shower and a damp smell from the towels which did not encourage me to use the shower. No marmalade or jam available for breakfast. The fry was good and the pot of tea was good and hot. Not worth 45Euro per night. It is a pity as the photos on the website are lovely.

We were sad to find that Nora had passed, but happy to know her family still runs a warm and inviting B&B. Our room (11) was more than adequate for the two of us. The view of the Dungarven Bay. Never disappoints, and the two pubs just down the street offer great food, drinks and entertainment.
The breakfasts are more food than anyone could (or should!!) eat, and tasted wonderful. The bottle of champagne on our arrival (second honeymoon, and we spent a few nights of our first honeymoon oh so long ago here as well) was a very nice touch.

Rooms are dated. Breakfast was poor. The website and particularly the breakfast menu is very misleading. There was no fresh fruit, farmers cheese, homemade brown bread, scones etc... certainly not a place to go to breakfast.

The owner was extremely helpful and helped us out above and beyond our needs. The rooms were immaculate, the service supurb, food lovely and fresh. Patron even helped organise a pre hen gathering for us, we booked out the guest house so she was able to allow us that. She even went as far as to collect us from the pub without us even asking. Really kind lady with a warm welcome. Inexpensive accomidation, beautiful sea views, great showers, comfortable beds what more could you want.

On arrival we were met with a real Irish welcome from Mealla and after being shown around the house we were taken into the conservatory to admire that wonderful view, the rooms were clean, warm and spacious the food was excellent and Mealla's knowledge of the area was excellent and useful. We had three wonderful nights at Seaview and will not hesitate to use this excellent B&B again.
