The B&B is easy to find on the Thormanby Road. The house is very attractive and has a beautiful porch. It is located in a quiet location, hardly any road noise at all. Do arrive early though because car parking facilities are very limited and sometimes cars need to be juggled around to get parked/away. Not all rooms are ensuite...

My wife Dyan (with our daughter Caitlin and her husband Kevin) stayed two nights here in September. Our hosts were very gracious, with many suggestions for what to see and do in Howth. Mick let us check in early, and even drove us twice to the DART station during the bus strike. Breakfasts were excellent and well-prepared. We chose Highfield...

Wonderful hosts and welcomed with a smile. Room was quite large for a B&B and bathroom large and fine. Breakfast excellent and room quiet. I don't know what some reviewers were expecting but for a B&B this close to Dublin and in such a location, the price and facilities were great. One can't expect more. Thank you for the wonderful...

My wife and arrived in the country without many plans since we are usually able to find a hostel fairly easily on short notice. Unfortunately this time all the hostels in Dublin were booked for sporting events. The receptionist at the airport very helpfully sealed us an open room at this place as a last option, being a little far...

I stayed here recently with my 8 month old nephew and his mother as our house was being rewired. Where can I start, this place is full of Victorian charm from the moment you walk in the door. We were greeted so warmly by Margaret and Mick who were such wonderful hosts. There was nothing they couldn't do for us...

In the 4 weeks in Ireland, this was the coldest room we stayed in. The heat was turned on about 2 hrs in the early evening. There were a few very old antiques in the room. Our room had a very large nice bathroom.A bit pricey for a older b+ b that needed to be remodeled Parking was adequate.2 km from downtown no...

We have recently spent 4 nights at the Highfield B&B. I will try to be as fair as possible so: The good's: it is run by a lovely welcoming couple. The house is old and could potentially be amazing. Location is ok, 20 mins far from Howth village. The bad's: very old and rundown structure, the bedrooms are extremely smelly...

For the third time in the last five years we stayed in Highfield for a few days. We enjoyed a comfortable room en suite overlooking the garden, with a distant view over the bay, great Irish breakfasts and, last but not least, Margaret's and Michael's warm hospitality (and sense of humour!). We think the location is ideal: - 6 minutes...

We called in here for 1 night in late May, without booking and were shown to a back facing double room with no view and a serious lack of heating! Our room was very small and dreary with old worn bed linen and a sagging old mattress. It is just not acceptable in 2014! The house had some lovely and...
