The wee town of Howth is lovely and shares its fishing village beauty well. We enjoyed our walk in town and dinner was the best fish & chips on our entire trip. The accommodations were adequate. Very small room with a tempermental toilet. Our hosts were pleasant but not anxious to accommodate requests outside the norm or their routine. Breakfast...

Having recently booked my Aunt into Hazelwood, I cannot say enough for the level of treatment both Rosaleen and her husband gave to her. The kindness and wonderful way in which they run their B&B is second to none. Thank you both for everything.

I was brought to Dublin for a friend’s wedding and was travelling with my husband, my sister and her boyfriend. We found the Hazelwood B&B on our friend’s wedding website as a place to stay, and with it being so reasonably priced we reserved rooms. Our plane landed very early and to our surprise Rosaleen and Frank allowed us to...

We turned up very late on the recommendation of a local friend. It was everything we could expect of a small B&B with the exception that the oners were very friendly and welcoming. Rosaleen was a great hostess. As they only had a couple of guests I think they gave us a third bedroom for our teenage daughter to save...

We were on a trip in Howth and did not book any B&B. It happened that this B&B had free vacancies and the owners turned out to be very helpful, friendly and courteous. The price is absolutely adequate and I would recommand this B&B especially to people who want to go for a walk in Howth because it is very...

The room in this B&B was fairly basic but clean. The factilities were adequate for a 1 or 2 night stay but not longer. Breakfast was at a large communal table which was nice unless you are not a morning person.

This was not our first choice but when my brother-in-law and his wife arrived before us at Gleann na Smol where we thought we had reservations, they were told it was overbooked and he would look for another place to put us. They looked the room over at Hazelwood and it appeared clean enough. And it was just that—sufficient. The...

We were switched here after being turned down where we had made our original reservations. The owner greeted us and showed us to our room. We had not eaten yet, so she made a recommendation. She then drove us up the hill, showed us the look out at the top of the hill and then dropped us off at the...

First, the lady from Illinois is completely right. We walked in, and just out of politeness, we resisted the temptation to walk right out. The room is extremely cluttered- towels, and extra linens just thrown on the shelves. I'm not sure if the bed linens were clean, but they did not smell like they were freshly laundered. On top of...

We had decided to stay at this B&B for its proximity to Dublin Airport, so we had no high strung expectations. But after having toured Ireland and stayed in several B&Bs where we had felt welcome as guests or even friends and had been pampered, Hazelwood made us feel we were mere clients. First: nobody answered the door when we...
