Old fashioned CIVILIZATION. The owners are friendly and warm. I thoroughly enjoyed my Irish Coffee prepared by Joe, sitting around the fire in the drawing room and having a great chat into the night with people from all over the world!

We stayed during the finals of hurling and gaelic football. That was fun. I thought Australians were mad crazy sports fanatics. Joe, the "butler", was brilliant and Henry and Elaine were fantastic hosts. We're sorry we only stayed 2 nights. A must is to take a walk through the gardens.

After our first visit here we longed to return. Unfortunately it took almost two years to find the time to go back but we were not disappointed. It was as lovely as we remember. Our room was gorgeous and we just love the tranquillity and the friendly relaxed atmosphere of the place. We definitely won't be leaving it another two... More

We were greeted warmly by Elaine when we returned to Ross Lake House Hotel. Our room was warm and comfortable, with fresh toiletries, towels and flannels provided daily. The furniture was in keeping with the house, and provided plenty of storage. We liked the fact that we ordered dinner in the bar, and weren't seated at our table until the... More

From the moment we arrived the owners where unwelcoming, for our sins we had a five hour drive to this so called Hotel, but we arrived 20 minutes early ,to be treated like refugees begging for a room. Not paying 160 Euros for the privildge, and beleive me I would be embarssed to ask for half that for wat we where given, add... We booked 2 rooms and they were very basic with 2 hard uncomfortable beds and creaky floor boards. Room was very cold and bathroom could have been cleaner. There was no Hot Water at night to get washed. We had travelled 7 hours with a horse for a show next morning and we arrived at 11-50pm the male hotel receptionist... More

The place is 30 mins from Galway and well signed posted of the main road. For some mysterious reason no taxi driver seems to be able to find it. Once you leave the main road you follow a couple of narrow lanes which make the place secluded and set in a quite romantic and beautiful place. The rooms are decorated... More

We booked the Ross Lake from Australia as we were having a lot of trouble getting accommodation in the area. What a fantastic surprise. Of all our accommodation in London and Ireland this was by far the best. We only stayed 1 night but wish it had been longer, would have loved to explore the gardens and surrounding area. Henry... This country inn was the perfect Irish experience in the Connemara countryside. Elaine and Henry were wonderful hosts. The food was delicious, the Irish coffees outstanding and the ambience lovely. The rooms were very comfortable with all amenities. We would love to return someday.
