Kilkee's horse-shoe beach in what can only be descibed as the manager of "THE STRAND" it shouldnt be like this-the weather he was referring too. Not the idyllic landscape in front of us, True most of the time the weather isnt the best, however when it does get it right, it is marvellous. We had a little stroll around the town...

We came off the beach and were delighted to get window seats at this bistro. Really nice views, gorgeous chowder, fast and friendly service. Perfect for a quick bite with good views. Relaxed atmosphere.

Stopped for a night as we were travelling through and really enjoyed our stay. We just stumbled on this place and decided to take a look. The room we had was all the way at the top and we had a great view of the beach from our tilt out window. The room was more like a suite with a...

We chose to have our wedding at the Strand a few weeks after my first visit to Kilkee last August. We knew The Strand was for us when we met with the proprietor Johnny who gave us carte blanche to design our own menu (and day) with his help. The view over Kilkee Bay from the bedrooms, bistro and cafe...

We were delighted with the owner and staff's helpfulness and enthusiasm. We ate at the restaurant several times and found it to be very good as were the breakfasts. Beds were comfortable and the view just lovely. Would go back.

I'm with my family & we had been to Loophead Lighthouse & headed to Cliffs of Moher. Stopped here as it was open & we drove past. It was a late lunch. One had fish n chips. He liked it. 3 of us had the Atlantic chowder. I thought it was very good. It was very, very hot & had...

Having stayed in the strand I won't return again, downstairs is quite pleasant decor wise but the bedrooms are not. The bathroom was dated but clean, however I found the bedroom to be lacking in character, maroon curtains, beige stained carpet, thin cheap sheets on the bed, and no quilt but the use of an old wooly blanket and top...

We recently had our wedding in Kilkee and booked a number of rooms for guests at The Strand. Every single one of our guests remarked on how wonderful their stay in the guesthouse was and Johnny (the owner) was exceptionally helpful and friendly getting everything organized. We also visited The Strand for our meal the night before the wedding with...

What a great place to stay in Kilkee. Check in was easy and typically Irish, you have to ring the bell if the door is locked. We were greeted at the door and I introduced myself and said we were booked to stay a few days. "yes you are, here's your key". "Do you need a credit card or anything...
