I've stopped here before, the rooms are quite large and comfortable. its perfectly placed opposite Durty Nellys for a bit of Irish magic and some Irish shops are at the bottom of hill no more than 100m from the hotel. The lounge area opposite reception...More
Loved our day to Bunratty castle. We had a great time with our toddler exploring the rather big grounds of Bunratty. Lovely play area outdoors as well as different animals. A sunny day would be ideal to visit this historic place
My husband had two nights booked at this hotel. Part of the reason was because we scheduled a feast at the bunratty castle, therefore the location was convenient. We had a hiccup at check in were they could find our reservation that was already paid...More
Hotel is located in the quaint, small town of Bunratty. It's up on a hill, but is within easy walking distance of the medieval Castle (there's a path on the left as you walk out of the lobby). There are a few pubs (Durty Nelly's...More
This hotel was great for us. After a long day of travel it was just what we needed. The staff was friendly and helpful, the grounds are beautifully kept, and the room was fantastic. The bed was comfy, it was quiet, and life was great!
Good question. Their spa set up requires bookings etc, so it would be an additional price. I thought the pool was freely available, but we didn't use it. May be best to check with the hotel to get the right info.

I almost forgot. Before the dinner, as the staff was preparing the dinning room we were escorted across a drawbridge prototype and invited to go up the stairs (too challenging for my husband who had back surgery only a few months before). I went upstairs to their introduction to the castle, a drink and a little music. My husband was treated with great kindness and was seated with a drink while he waited for us to descend the stairs. So he did not feel totally left out; but also was not able to hear the history of the castle nor the preview of the musical entertainment. I could not see any other way that could have been possible for him or for anyone who is physically challenged. But it felt like an authentic venue where one would not expect a complete overhaul to accommodate him. And the dinner and show was the main attraction. Still, it's worth noting that this might be a problem for some.
