Our second stay at the wonderful Dower House and Stephanie and I weren't disappointed. Great room, great meal and great conversation with our hosts Neil and Rosemarie and the other guests. A big bonus was meeting the hotel's latest addition...their beautiful and very large Great Dane pup. We'll be back.

Had a lovely one night stay in the jaw dropping French Lieutenant room. A luxurious large room with copper bath and good breakfast. Nice touches such as the Nespresso machine in the room. Rosemarie and Neil were most welcoming hosts.

I was looking for somewhere for my husband and I to celebrate our one year anniversary near Lyme Regis and that took dogs. Often dog friendly means a bit shabby, but not here, not only were Neil and rosemary so welcoming the accommodation is stunning and very high specification. Our suite on the ground floor was perfect with access out...

We have just returned from a 3 night stay in this most beautiful hotel. Neil and Rosemarie made us most welcome, the breakfasts were just right and were presented very well. We were lucky and were able to eat in the hotel each night, the meals were very reasonably priced and cooked beautifully by Rosemarie. We stayed in the Austen...

When you see nothing but glowing reviews of a hotel or restaurant it is all too easy to think that it cannot be true. Well guess what? It is all true. Believe it. Beautiful rooms, fantastic hosts who cannot do enough for their guests, a superb bar and intimate dining with great food entirely justify a 5* rating for service,...

We've just come back from 4 nights at The Dower House and we had a fantastic time. We stayed in The Hardy Room (one of their dog friendly rooms) with the most comfortable 4-poster bed. A great place to stay for exploring both Dorset and Devon. Neil and Rosemarie are excellent hosts and make you feel part of the family....

It was a pleasure to stay in The Dower House, even though the purpose was for a special meal at nearby River Cottage and that was very disappointing. The hotel's welcome is warm and service excellent. The garden is very pleasant. The hotel is well decorated and spotlessly clean. The public rooms are large and comfortable. We stayed in the...

I recently stayed at Dower House Hotel with my husband and another couple. The hotel is very welcoming, spotlessly clean with well equipped and luxurious rooms and gorgeous views. The owners were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel. The hotel is also situated 5 mins drive from River Cottage which is also fantastic.

This is one of the best Country House hotels we have ever stayed in. Nothing is to much trouble for Neil and Rosemarie. The mix of old and new decor is truly inspired and makes a totally relaxed atmosphere. We loved it and will be visiting again. Just one thing if you want an evening meal you have to book...

We stayed at Dower House Hotel last weekend. It was only an overnight stay as we went to River Cottage for Saturday night dinner. Wish we could stay longer though. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. We have received a very warm welcome from the owners. Rosemarie and Neil are great hosts and they make everyone feel special. The room was...
