We have been coming here regularly for the past 6 years. Always great fresh and tasty food and a warm welcome. The pasta is homemade, the second courses are tasty and fantastic value for money and the pizza's are the best in the Grafagnana. Bravi !!

The service was very good - the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed the bruschetta starter - drizzling balsamic vinegar over it made it even better. But the main course could only be described as superb - I chose pork escalopes in white wine sauce. The meat was really tender and delicious and sauce to die for! After that,...

The food in the restaurant is amazing and exceptional value for money. We were in a group of ten people who stayed locally for three weeks and visited the restaurant, bar and supermarket most days. The pizza and pork dishes were special and fizzy wine bottle trick Nico did was something else. We would like to Nico and his family...

If I could give this place six stars, I would. We didn't stay at the hotel but the bar and the grocery shop were ideal. Best of all, though was the restaurant and the staff. We were a group of 10 people (5 couples) who were staying locally (Aug 2014) and we were really impressed how good the restaurant was...

We returned to Il Grotto yesterday almost a year to the date of our last visit. Fabulous pizzas, excellent ravioli and great local house wine. Lovely staff (family) who recognised us and provided their usual great service despite being very busy. It's a restaurant worth travelling to.

We stayed in Villetta in a lovely villa for two weeks in August and visited the restaurant on at least ten occasions, The pizzas and pastas were first class and the owners were very friendly and hospitable. They even welcomed my son and his friend and took them down to the local porcetta for an evening out. A big thank...

I had gone to this restaurant as part of a group of 12 people. It took 45 minutes to get a beer! The mushroom soup was excellent but the trout was terrible. They had flattened the fish after cooking so it was virtually impossible to dig out all the bones. Several of the courses got mixed up. They never asked...

It IS quite simply the best pizza we've come across in our extensive research! Another gem on the menu is the home made ravioli in walnut sauce. Unfortunately it wasn't available this evening, though you could have the ravioli with butter and sage. Maybe it's a seasonal thing. The staff (younger members of the family) are, like many Garfagnanans, rather...
