From the moment you arrive you are made to feel at home, nothing seems too much trouble. The house is in extensive gardens with good views and is very quiet. Our bedroom was spacious and airy. The shower room well equipped. Our hosts offered to run us to the pub but we decided on ordering take away to be delivered,...

Everything was excellent. Breakfast was the best we had on our trip, specially selfmade jam. Louise was so kind and we were sad that we couldn't stay longer than one night. Bolgownie House is an ideal place to explore the borders and all the old abbeys nearby. We 've made an evening walk from Louises house to "Scotts view" which...

This is a great B&B. The rooms are well set out with all the comforts you need. Breakfast was terrific, the best we had had on our travels. Louise the gracious hostess had all the normal choices for breakfast plus a few specials. We had scrambled eggs topped with salmon and it was delicious. There is a pub a couple...

Breakfast here was great. Quality ingredients, including fantastic bacon and mushrooms. And the owners were relaxed, friendly and helpful - even dropping us off at the best local pub after we'd had a long day cycling. Thoroughly recommend.

I stayed here in dec 2009 with friends as we were attending a gig in nearby Galasheils. I was late in arriving, but Louise the owner was lovely, not only then but also during our stay. It's a wee bit out the way, but if you want peace and tranquility, then this is the place to go. We basically had...

Amazing accommodation. Stayed in a lovely room with really good taste and above all a very comfortable bed. It is much much better than staying in the usual hotels. Lovely sorroundings to the immediate vicinity which make you feel relaxed and stress free. Would highly recommend this place. Breakfast was also very good with plenty of choices.

We booked last minute at Balgownie House. Less than 24 hours - but due to a cancellation they could accommodate our request. Great price, we stayed in a lovely room, big bed, spotlessly clean and with great views. Breakfast was faultless - a fresh, bountiful spread, with added touches like homemade jams and marmalade. Louise made us very welcome -...

Stayed slightly out of season (22 - 27 March 2012) in the self catering accommodation. Mine hosts kindly arranging this beforehand as they had to depart mid way through our stay on other business and our bona fides were established by having a married daughter in the area. We know the area well as we have visited St Boswells numerous...

We had 8 friends staying here for 1 and 2 night stays. We went to view the bed and breakfast before booking our friends in and the rooms were decorated beautifully and were spotless. We booked everyone in immediately. All 8 of our friends could not praise this bed and breakfast high enough, they said it was very friendle especially...
