We've just returned from 3 nights in the Shepherd's Hut. After not really knowing what to expect I can honestly say it was a really enjoyable experience. The location is stunning and the hut was so cosy and warm with a most comfortable bed! The shower room come tea making and boot storage room is ideal and being able to...

Just returned from an overnight stay here and found I could just sit and look at the view all day long. It really is so peaceful and beautiful and great for walking. The room had the tallest bed I have ever slept in and I felt like a little girl clambering into bed at night, very comfortable and warm. The...

I imagine you stayed in Demesne room. It has its own entrance from the courtyard , with a complete wall of glass. So those views from the antique iron bedstead are right down over the farm to the Eden Valley and the Pennines beyond. Breakfast just outside your bedroom door on a warm morning is lovely and so many guests...

I didn't get to book a stay in what looks to be a lovely shepherds hut because the owner, Ruth, was so rude when I tried to make the booking. Sounds like she's had enough of Groupon customers from her attitude. I honestly wouldn't want to stay and requested a refund from Groupon (which I got by the way Ruth,...

I have requested this review to be removed. The request was refused. I cannot make any comment other than......that the person presumably tried to book and could not be accommodated because we were fully booked, end of story !

A quirky place with obects of interest everywhere you look. Bedrooms spacious and comfortable. Views fantastic. Quality breakfast . Loads of areas to just sit and enjoy the views. Within walking distance of The Butchers Arms where there was good beer and a warm welcombe, the food not so great at the time but were advertising for a chef. A...

Drive up the track, we are just 10 minutes from the M6 Then..... you now can relax and relish the views, the peaceful walks in every direction, and a super, local breakfast. With plenty of choice...... A continental tray of hot croissants with homemade marmalade, fruit and yoghurt. A sleepy farmers breakfast in bed of bacon, sausage and egg bap with...

This is quite out of this world. A charming property with all mod cons, wifi, but more importantly rusticly-themed furniture, large bedrooms en suite, and no one else in sight. A place to get away from the rest of the world. However, this is not a hotel in the usual sense of the world. It feels much more like a...

Crake Trees Manor is indeed a family home, a working farm, a rural Bed and Breakfast, a venue for Glamping, all in all our business and our life, we hope you enjoy it also.

Very clean, nicely decorated. DAB radio no TV, and remote Lakeland location, make it ideal for couples walking and exploring the area. Breakfast we found a little average, but then we are Yorkshire folk who perhaps have very high standards for eggs and bacon!

That is the first time in 38 years that i have had an "average comment " about breakfast at Crake Trees Manor. I cannot remember when you stayed, but you probably opted for the cheaper breakfast tray in your room option, which is lovely and just right for some visitors. But, Full Farmhouse Breakfast at Crake Trees is taken seriously....

A truly fantastic place to stay. Its certainly rural but that's what is so fantastic about it, it's quite and homely and you couldnt ask for more. Ruth and Mike we're very welcoming and chatty offering advice of what to do and where to go and the breakfast was great. The room we stayed in was warm and cosy with...

It was great to see your vintage Triumph sports car coming up the track to Crake Trees Manor. Not once, but twice we welcome you and your father to stay and be refreshed during your epic road trip around Great Britain.

This place looked great on the website, on trip advisor and had great reviews on trip advisor. It certainly lived up to its reputation. Ruth was very welcoming and offered advice on what to do in the area. The location itself is very rural, as it is a working farm, but there is a community owned pub that also does...

Crake Trees Manor seems to be a great place to meet up at for a few nights. Guests often choose us as the perfect place for a family reunion, birthday celebration with friends, or romantic get together. We are just 15 minutes from the M6 and A66 or 3 hours 10 minutes from central London by train!

It is lovely when guests find us by an indirect route. Weather they are attending a Smokery course at Smoky Jo's, studying Elizabethen cookery at Ivan Day's farmhouse in Shap or learning the art of Dry Stone walling at Orton. They are usually surprised at how much they enjoyed staying with us also.

I stayed here last summer with my girlfriend and had a fantastic time. The location is amazing and views breathtaking. Breakfast was delivered to our room every morning and was also fantastic. Ruth was very friendly and welcoming and her husband always gave us a friendly wave when he was pottering about in his tractor! I loved the feel of...
