Stayed here for 3 nights to visit LaRochelle. Just 15 minutes direct drive to the centre, and in quiet countryside it was ideal. A lovely warm welcome from Yann the owner, who put up with my poor french and helped out with his excellent English. The house is lovely, built on the site of an old abbey. Our large room had an African theme , beautifully decorated with a nice en suite. It had a vast comfortable bed, and a couple of armchairs. I had a chance to look at all the other rooms, all individually decorated and beautiful. Breakfast was taken around a huge communal table and was excellent. Along with the usual continental offerings there was home made yoghurt, home made banana bread and tarte aux pommes -delicious. There was free WiFi but this was erratic in our bedroom. There are coffee and tea making facilities on the galleried landing and a sitting area with books. Visitors should note there are no TV’s in the bedrooms, though we were too busy for this to be a problem. The garden and pool are lovely, unfortunately we didn’t have the weather to make the most of it. The only slight downside was no restaurant in walking distance. Next time we visit the area we will definitely stay here again.

Thank you very much for your comment! The WIFI, it is true, did not work well in the rooms. This is now fully fixed since your visit, and the WIFI reception is now perfect in all of our 5 guest rooms for the comfort of our guests. Concerned to take into account each customer remark, we are studying the possibility of installing the television in each room. In terms of catering, we will soon offer on-site catering solutions through a catering partner offering 100% organic meals of high quality. We look forward to seeing you again. You will see that the comments of our customers are exploited every time to always improve the delivered service.

Our room smelled terribly damp, not a great smell to live with. The owner said the damp smell was due to the room being north facing.....!!! The bathroom shower tray had mold so we didn't want to use it. The cups were chipped on the "tea and coffee" tray. The garden needed tending to, looked "end of season". Sadly not a great stay, and we we're so looking forward to it, having read the reviews and seen the photos. Because of the over whelming smell of damp I cannot recommend this stay at all. Very off putting.

I am a strong supporter of reviews that have significantly improved the hosting services in recent years. I answer almost systematically to those who are addressed to me and use them intensively to maximize the service delivered. In the present case, it is not a real opinion but simply an attempt, rather clumsy and perverse, to damage the reputation of my bed and breakfast. This involves writing reviews decrying all accommodation (water jet in the shower, garden, cups, decoration, politeness, etc.) on most major sites (Google, Booking.com, Tripadvisor), spread over several days (nothing spontaneous in the process) with the only desire to do harm. To convince myself, I urge the reader of this opinion to consult: - on this same site, the "horrible" notices posted by these customers - the opinions of 99% of my customers concerning the Logis Saint Léonard both on the Gîtes de France website and on Booking.com. For information, the outrageous behavior of these "customers" was reported, at the end of their stay (so before the publication of this notice), to Booking.com who apologized for sending me such customers.

On the web site of that B&B it is clearly written that there is free WiFi. Well, in that room there is no WiFi. Basic fairness requires mentioning that important information. Room was quiet. Breakfast was good. No toilet paper holder, you have to hold the roll in your hands. In the bathroom there is only one liquid soap bottle, which makes you moving it from the sink to the shower back and forth. Why not dividing the same quantity of liquid soap between two bottles in order to make it comfortable? And why not using a plastic bottle in the shower, so that guests will not be afraid of dropping it and breaking it? Isn't it more practical and logical?
