This hotel was so good, all the staff considerate and caring, cleanliness 100% great, a very comfortable bed and a fabulous restaurant for dinner and breakfast. When we arrived we realised we should have booked a room overlooking the water (our fault - we definitely recommend you do this). It was no problem at all, our needs were quickly taken into account and we were not disappointed. The animals gave us the most marvellous entertainment! We will certainly return.

Went to this fab restaurant to celebrate granddad 90th and grandmothers 75th birthdays. The service was excellent, the food was amazing. Thanks from Harry & Valerie Druce and family for making this such a special occasion. P.S. The #COVID19 precautions were exemplary

Excellent restaurant that TripAdvisors ignores. Expensive but very good food. Found it by accident 41 years ago and again by accident. Perhaps TripAdvisor will get their act together. Deserves to be mentioned.

We have stayed here on several occasions on visits to France and I was concerned to notice when we arrived this time that it was apparently under new management. I need not have worried. The beautiful location is the same and the livestock on the island are still there - a billygoat, a sheep who apparently adores him, geese, ducks, chickens and swans. The staff were more smartly dressed, more friendly and disciplined. Our room was spacious and clean. The restaurant was better than before. The winelist was as extensive but some items were out of stock - perhaps the new owners are running down the old stock. prior to implementing a new list. This is my wife's favourite hotel. I expect we will be staying here again.

Room Tip: River view rooms are worth the extra money - get there while the sun is up so as to enjoy them.

Lunch. Menu allowed for a choice between various menus and price options. Not cheap but we did not walk away feeling we didn't enjoy the food or the ambience. The standard is high, its formal, the food is served beautifully and the waiter was polite, spoke English and made us very welcome. There was also a very good and varied Wine list. The setting is out of town, as are most restaurants in France. It has been well thought out and worth a visit Whilst we didn't stay in the hotel I would be surprised if the rooms weren't also at a high standard. ONLY negative - the waitress came at the end, cleared our wine glasses without checking we had wine left!!!
