If you want to savour French hospitality at its very best then make sure you visit the Le Clos de Venes. Despite a very last minute booking and a very late arrival, we received a lovely welcome from Sylvie. The house is beautiful inside and out and we knew we had made a great choice from the second we arrived.... More

We had the most wonderful stay with Sylvie and Christophe - too short - great room, and a fantastic tour of the wine farm. A small producer of outstanding organic wines. Highly recommended and original.

We came for Carcasonne, but we will return for Sylvie, Christophe and Clos de Venes. This ranks among the most enjoyable places we have stayed in our many travels! Sylvie and Christophe are Vignerons (winemakers) operating both the wine operation and this wonderful B&B, located a 25 to 30 minute drive away from Carcasonne. They bought the home and their... For touring Languedoc-Roussillon, this hidden jewel has it all. Charismatic hosts, Sylvie and Christophe, who speak excellent English and hand craft their own excellent wines, serve fresh croissants and baguettes along with homemade crepes and scrumptious jams for breakfast, and provide spacious rooms with big feather beds and glorious bathrooms in their manor house filled with artful antiques. Just 35... More

We only spent one night here in September; everything was great- the friendly hosts, the beautiful old house, our huge, tastefully-decorated room, the delicious breakfast served at a large table where you could chat to the other guests. We would most definitely stay there again!

We were welcomed upon our arrival by Sylvie and made to feel right at home. The large bedroom was rustic and classic and just right . . with an upgraded bathroom . . also nice and large. Though they do not serve supper . . they suggested a local hotel/restaurant that served the purpose, as we were too tired to... More

Beautiful old house in centre of the village, we stayed for one night only as a stopover on the way to Spain - and I wish we could have stayed longer. The hosts Sylvie and Christophe are excellent hosts and share a passion for their wines and the area. Rooms are very spacious and a delight, the breakfast was superb... More

We stayed at Sylvie and Christophe home last week. In a lovely countryside/vineyards location, so near to Carcassonne, so near to the Montagne Noire and the Cathar Castles, so near to the Canal du Midi, their rooms are large and airy, very clean, comfortable and quiet. Delicious breakfast. Being a busy period we can't have dinner there but we went... More
