The staff are friendly and helpful and the restaurant has great views and yummy cocktails. Serving sizes for mains in the restaurant are very generous and reasonably priced. The fales are relatively clean but are a tad dark and dreary. The hot water in our fale was barely a trickle but as we didn't experience hot water anywhere else in...

A 45 minute drive from the airport but well worth the journey. The individual bungalows are set in beautiful gardens and the bar and restaurant overlook the beach and reef beyond. We were treated to whales breaching at sunset and then at breakfast a group of 5 whales came right up to the reef. At high tide you can snorkel...

Dear Sara , We enjoyed having you stay with us and being able to share our culture with you. for your recent comments about our Cultural evening & feast. It certainly is a highlight for guests staying with us and we’ve worked hard to make sure this will remain in their thoughts for sometime – so many thanks we look...

It would seem that the negative reviews have been taken notice of, for the most part. Staff were friendly and helpful, even though they are obviously overworked and underpaid. Restaurant service is no worse than any I've had in New Zealand. The major gripe was that the shuttle vans to/from the airport need trailers - there is not enough room...

Hi Steve, Thank you for the review and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and that you got to see lots of whales- very lucky you saw a shark also :) I apologize for the rental car service and thank you for pointing this out to us, however they are a completely separate company to us...

Pluses: The Tongan feast night and entertainment (Wednesdays and Saturdays) which was good value and interesting. Reception staff were very helpful. Minuses: Rooms were dirty - flyscreens were full of dust making it hard to see out of, louvre windows dirty, floors dirty, bathroom smelt dreadful - and had black mould spreading on tiles and walls in many areas. Toilet...

For our first trip overseas, on a student budget, this resort had everything we needed for a relaxing and easy getaway. Food: The restaurant was great and well priced, free breakfast daily was an excellent treat, with a wide range of exciting dishes to choose from. Entertainment: The resort opens it's doors to travelers from all over the island to...

We stayed for a week and every day presented some unexpected challenges. For starters, staff have no interest in serving their guests in any way .... Reception was mostly unattended, good luck finding someone who knew the password for the wifi, the restaurant was often unattended, even when they were supposed to serve breakfast. One night we attempted to dine...

This resort made our trip memorable, for all the wrong reasons. Some of the group stayed in the front rooms which were much better than up the hill. Everyday had a new challenge from no hot water, to no cold water, to no water. Toilets sometimes didn't flush. Floor looked like a cockroach battleground one morning. Breakfast...nice if not in...

The beauty and simplicity of this beautiful south pacific island is captured by Liku'alofa Beach Resort. If you want to experience the true meaning of Tongan time and culture you must experience the "beach of love".

I visit Tonga once a year and make a point of visiting Liku'alofa for a traditional buffet on either a Friday or Weds night. I'm never disappointed. The buffet has plenty of variety and will satisfy most palettes and persuasions. Accompanied by traditional cocktails and a great floor show. If you get there early take the time to sit outside...

A nice spot with friendly staff, but all in all a little tired and in need of a spruce up. The show night (Wednesday and Friday) was great and well worth going to. The sunset bar is superbly positioned with a view of the sun setting on over the offshore reef (and we heard that after we left that whales...
