The views from the hotel over the valley are lovely, on a sunny day you look at the distant Welsh mountains. Behind the hotel is cleeve hill with some lovely walks. The hotel should be as perfect as its location but it is looking very tired. Our room was very ordinary and had only one bedside table, unfortunately outside the...

Very old fashioned 80s style pub with very little character. Food is pretty poor and massively dry and overcooked. The bar staff look thoroughly depressed. The best thing about this pace is sitting outside in the sun. Chairs are so uncomfy I went with a large group and everyone said how uncomfortable they were. Its ok but wouldn't go back

Stopped by this small hotel/restaurant. The Fish & Chips we ate were really good and the weather was nice... you really wanna go there for the view though. Their food was amazing too. +++For the service and giving us conplimentary large portion of Fish & Chips :)

Server; Alice Best chips ever! Enjoyable meal supplemented by fantastic views. Prawn cocktail first in 20+ years fantastic! Acknowledging a slight issue with our meal in both a courteous and pleasant manner left us both as two happy customers. Thank you Rising Sun for two hungry and tired Cotswold Way walkers 😊

Good service at dinner! Room was well decorated although the drapes were a bit dated. Food was average but the views were stunning. The breakfast service was not great - very slow, however, I would stay again.

Well run hotel and restaurant. Hotel and rooms warm throughout ( it was cold and windy outside). Room of good standard and even had biscuits with the tea or coffee sachets ! Good choice for breakfast and cooked options of reasonable standard. Hotel obviously popular since often difficult to book and is full for this Summer- with some pre-bookings a...

For this standard of establishment was very disappointed when visited with a friend for lunch - on a week day. Arrived 1.30 and told very busy so food would be at wait of 30 minutes. I said that was not a problem. After ONE hour food still not arrived. Bar person assured me the order had gone through (I had...

Went for a light lunch. Food was so so but what you'd expect for a chain. We'd gone mainly for a drink and the views, which are amazing. I ordered from the gin specials menu - instead of getting fevertree tonic as sold on the premium drinks menu (at a price of £5.99) I got Schweppes - I'm not good...
