Had a Saturday lunch without any prior booking and they gave us a great table with a wonderful view. This is the second time we have been here and on both occasions, we have come away feeling very satisfied with both the food and the service. This isn't fine dining but it is good quality pub food and at a...

Stayed at the Rising Sun for a weekend break. Room was clean and tidy. Good bathroom with plenty of room.Very comfortable bed with the expected crisp white sheets. The room had a beautiful view of the Cotswolds valley from the window. Ideal location if you like walking or cycling. Service was excellent with everybody being very helpful. Great breakfast with...

So here we are again back on cleeve hill for another stay at this lovely hotel . Sadly the lovely Parvis is no longer there and we missed his smiling face behind the bar. The new guy in charge seems very nice though and all the staff are to be commended for overcoming a tough couple of months. We love...

We visited for one night as attending a funeral in nearby village. Gerri the receptionist greeted us warmly and was excellent at her job. Very impressed.. All in all the hotel needs a total decoration revamp as very tired decor in bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast was a great let down as stayed at the royal George also whom have same...

Thanks for the feed back. Our breakfast is normally highly commended so I am especially sorry to hear yours wasn't up to standard. Apologies again Simon Jones

We weren't expecting haute cuisine but unfortunately my fish was watery and unpleasant. The beer was peculiarly overpriced given the location (i.e not the centre of london). My companions had two mediocre burgers served in a dry bun. A good view however.

I often chuckle at the name of this establishment, given its position and that I often go to the rising sun on a clear evening to watch the sun set (not sunrise). The atmosphere is always pleasant and the service always professional. Today I went for lunch with my other half and another couple. The staff were accommodating to the...

Thanks for the review. Good to hear you had nice meals and good service. I have to say I agree with the name! Maybe Setting Sun would be more appropriate! Simon

This hotel was recommended by some friends. The rooms are good considering that this is a very old building. They are clean and of a reasonable size with great views. The food is excellent with a good choice from their menu. Neither the food nor drink is expensive. Our stay with dinner (with a bottle of wine), bed and breakfast...

We stayed in a family room for 2 nights. When we checked in there was no cot, so we asked for one to be added to the room. Still no cot, so we ended up using our own travel cot. The room needed a good clean, especially the bathroom. We couldn't get the hot water to work on the shower,...

Thank-you for your feedback, sorry that we didn't get the cot in the room. Unsure as to why you couldn't get the hot water to work in the shower, we have had no other complaints or comments from this room and I have checked and it is working now, so my apologies. Simon

I visited the restaurant with two friends. The restaurant was very busy but a table was found for us and despite the busyness, our food was served with only a small delay. The food was very good and it was nice for me to find some slightly different vegetarian choices. Our waiter Patrick, was very helpful and had a great...
