Stayed in the lighthouse cabin and were quite comfortable. The ocean views from the property are wonderful and we very much enjoyed the seaside campfire. Hosts were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area.
We only stayed one night in this beautiful, secluded cove (in the Baker House), but it was just what we needed after a long drive. We wish we stayed a bit longer. Although it is a bit remote, that's part of its charm. I would definitely stay again.
We stayed in Baker Cottage for two night which was so relaxing. It rained the days we were there but it did not take away from the view. The cottage was comfortable and had a way of making you sit and think of the families that raised their children there. Our hosts were there to help with anything you would need and a pleasure to talk to. You will not be disappointed if you want true Newfoundland accommodations and hospitality.
This place is beautiful, very peaceful, close to all ammunities that may be needed, we loved it, stayed at the Baker House for 2 nights. We will definitely visit again., The owners are very friendly and helpful.Thank you so much.
Wow! Great place to get away from it all. The setting is gorgeous and so relaxing. We stayed in the Baker Cottage. The house was so very charming and super clean. It has everything you’ll need for your stay, just bring the food. Our hosts were perfect. All smiles, charming, present but discreet. We will definitely return.
We stayed three nights in the Baker House at Coffee Cove Seaside Retreat and loved it. The house is cozy and comfortable and the location right on the ocean, is perfect. If you are looking for "a little out of the way" place to stay...this is it. Enjoy, we did.
The Green Bay area (Springdale area) is one place in the province that we (and many others I think) normally tend to bypass on the highway and don't detour there for very long. On the way to Gros Morne we decided to stay in the area for a night. We happened upon Coffee Cove Retreat in the Tourism Guidebook and so glad we booked the night there. Prior to this we had never heard of Coffee Cove. While it's a little out of the way (about a 20 or 25 min. drive from the TCH) it's well worth the detour. We stayed at the lighthouse cabin (has a great 360 deg. view in a little area above the bedroom loft). Great view of the bay. The Baker House (an old saltbox house) also available there looks great as well. You should remember to bring your food with you - you won't find a restaurant or grocery store in Coffee Cove (population 19). Nearest larger town is Springdale, a 10 or 15 min. drive, grocery store and restaurant available there. BBQ available at the Lighthouse and most of the staples you'll need ( coffee, sugar etc) are there as well. Cabin very clean. Firelog available if you're inclined to have a fire on the deck (in the firepit). Nola and Paul very friendly hosts. Certainly would recommend this place to stay for one or several nights. Lots to see in the Green Bay area. Very quiet and peaceful. …
If you love peace, tranquility, relaxing, and getting away from it all, then this is definitely the place for you! Unfortunately my wife and I could only stay 1 night in the lighthouse cottage, but we brought some great steaks and had an awesome BBQ and fire on our completely secluded deck. Sitting on the dock with our toes in the water for hours and not hearing a car, boat or person was very special, and having cocktails in the top of the lighthouse overlooking the calm and peaceful Mussel farms in the bay was definitely a new first. In the morning our wonderful hostess Nola suggested we drive down the road to meet her husband Paul who was helping offload thousands of pounds of freshly harvested Mussels - glad we took the extra 30 minutes to meet Paul and learn all about Mussel farming! The Lighthouse cottage was very clean and truly unique. Would go back in a minute!…
I regrettably stayed only one night at Coffee Cove Retreat. A little off the beaten path, this place is a little piece of heaven. I am a Newfoundlander and live only 2 hours away. I had never heard of Coffee Cove until I was browsing our provincial tourism guide last year. I love discovering new places around our beautiful province and this place did not disappoint. I stayed in the Baker House and my stay couldn't have been any more perfect. The house has character, charm, history with a deck and living area overlooking the Cove that is truly magical. Complete and total tranquility. The cottage has everything you need and all you require is grocery items. Springdale is roughly 15 minutes away so getting to a grocery store is easy. As I sat in the darkened sitting room curled up in the fabric rocking chair with a blanket, a book and a glass of wine I had never felt such peace. The next morning I was able to enjoy my coffee down on the wharf in one of the Adirondack chairs. Again, complete silence and tranquility. The only downside is that I couldn't stay longer. Next summer I will definitely book a longer stay and enjoy more of the charms this place has to offer. Nola and Paul are lovely people and I am so glad I found this place. It was everything I expected it to be and more. If you love history, charm and getting away from it all then this is the place for you. I loved it and can't wait to stay again.…
Very peaceful but a bit too far out of the way unless you bring everything you will need. Meeting a local mussel farmer and his son was a real highlight of our visit. View from deck was good but could have great if some of the trees were thinned out. The location could be a lot better......area somewhat run down. Disappointed the ice trays were empty upon arrival but nice spot to BBQ
